The AR I built about a year ago. Some custom parts on it. It shoots pretty well... usually Sub-MOA when the shooter doesn't screw the shot :D

Sold the 500, but it was a good time (just mad expensive to shoot)

I shot it this morning. Put 200 rounds through it. My thoughts...

-The stock is a bit uncomfortable against your cheek, and although there isn't much recoil from the 7.62 round, the edge of the stock seems to repeatedly hit my cheekbone in the same spot, and after 60 or so rounds, it started to get old...and sore. I used some paracord and the padding from one of my cases to make an impromtu cheek rest.

-The trigger is OK. It didn't jump out at me in a positive or negative way, so it's serviceable as is. Better than the SKS trigger (by far), but not exactly crisp and light.

-Sights were dead-on at 50 (edit:I originally typed 100 yards, but I should have typed 50) yards straight out of the box. I mean dead-on. At 50 yards you can put the top of the front pin right on top of the target, which is how my SKS is setup, which is how I like it and I didn't even have to touch it.

-It absolutely will not cycle soft point/lead jacketed ammo. It ate FMJ and hollow points w/o a single issue, however. It loves the Wolf 122gr hollow points...they gave the best group of the day. Also did really well with the 123gr WWB FMJ. Like I said, it would not even cycle the Remington Express 125gr softpoints, and the accuracy of those rounds sucked compared to the other two anyway.

-It gets warm...quick. After the first 20 rounds it was smoking like a truck driver.

-I think it's more accurate than the factory gives it credit for. They claim 8" groups at 100 yards and I think if you put the rifle in more cpable hands than mine it could do better than advertised by an inch, maybe 2.

-It reminds me a lot of the SKS in the way it operates, but it's not quite as accurate, IMO, albeit by the slightest of margins.

    -Magazines worked without issue.

-I like it, but I don't love it (so far) like I do the AR or even the SKS for that matter. Not sure what I'll do with it at this point. It left me wanting more, I think, for the amount of money I paid for it. I paid less for the LAR, and could have another for the money I've got in the CZ...

-Best (20 shot) group at 50 yards (8" target). There was a little wind today too, so I bet I can get it down quite a bit at 50 yards on a good, still day. I mean, that's a pretty solid 4" group (sans the flyer). This was off a bench and on a bag.

But, here's my best 100 yard (20 shot) group with the AR-15. I had a few off the paper to the right (wind), but a pretty solid group besides that. I don't think the CZ will ever be that accurate.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
    Stippled my G17 and G19.

Here is an ATI Mosin Nagant I picked up a couple of weeks ago. A little shady picture but you get the point. :)

Why: I have no idea. My grandfather had gotten the gun sometime in the 50's. Its how I inherited it. I think whoever had the gun pieced it together and did not have an 03 stock.

How: No idea again, believe the barrels and actions are very similar on the 03 and 17, prob wouldnt take much to swap. And back 50 to 60 years ago, no one knew the value these guns would someday bring. They were a dime a dozen. Someday I would like to get an 03 stock it so it can at least be somewhat correct.
