If gas was already $80 a gallon once I probably wouldn't. That was my point. Prices are high now but they've been MUCH higher and could go even higher in the future depending on how some laws go.

Does anyone have any experience with the Ruger SR22? I had a Sig Mosquito that I like to take when I go to the range because 22LR is cheap to shoot. It jammed constantly no matter what ammo I ran through it, so I purchased the SR22 based on the reviews...

Less than 100 rounds through the SR22 and it jammed well over 30 times, mainly FTE's (4 different types of ammo). The gun shop I purchased is also a range, I had the salesman come take a look at the gun on the range. He agreed the gun was faulty and refunded my money. They didn't have other SR22's to try out, but now I don't think I want one. So, basically, does anyone have good experiences with an SR22? It was very difficult to find bad reviews on the gun, so I am wondering if it was just a lemon...

Prob either Cerakote, duracoat or Water-dipped.

If it is Coated... It takes A ton of time. Prob take me a full 8 hour day to get it prefect.

I have one and it works very well. I've had a couple misfeeds but it's generally a nice shooting gun. My only gripe with it is the magazines seem poorly constructed. They tend not to keep the bullets in line so as it's feeding, one will get caught and get vertical. This only happened to be a couple times in several hundred rounds though. I've been thinking about messing with one of the magazines to see if I can solve the problem. I think a spacer on one side would help keep the bullets stacked neater. FWIW, I've been shooting Federal bulk ammo so nothing fancy. Overall, I like it and would buy it again. I was between the SR22 and a Walther 22 (can't remember what it was called). I strayed from the Mosquito because I was told by the guy at the firearm shop that they can be finacky with ammo. The firearm shop did have all 3 pistols in stock so they had no vested interest to sway me either way.

Outkast, have you had any similar issues, or any others with your SR22?

A few years back when I did real estate investment I was sitting in a like new Gallardo contemplating writing a check for it and driving it off of the show room floor. The reason I didn't? 1) it was tiny and I'm a large frame fella and 2) I decided that that same money focused in some of the leads I had on the real estate investment was a better investment and the Lambo was a poor investment. In hindsight, I REALLY shoulda bough the Lambo.

Not really sure that being able to afford something has to do with the basic premise. The bottom line is the value of the item is whatever someone is willing to pay. Not a penny more and not a penny less. I get tired of the wasted bandwidth on what is just sour grapes. They have it, you don't. If you had it you'd be asking whatever the market would bear as well and if not you're an idiot with socialistic tendencies. If you really need something you save your pennies until you can afford it. Sometimes things go up in price and sometimes they go down. I don't see people ripping corporations for increasing costs for stock yet those same people will bitch about something that amounts to an investment for someone else. They bought right and are taking advantage of forward thinking. You waited until 2013 to buy a lower and Pmags so you have to pay more. Welcome to the party. Pretty simple to understand.

Thank you, i was contemplating the tan one but the color was so far off from the browns on the rifle i thought it would stand out too much. I think the little bit of black thats on it helps break up the straight fde colors. All done now just need my sling mounts.

It has to do with volume. If they sold anywhere near as many of them as they do the 556 mags they would offer different colors. No store wants to have a shelf of different colors and that many different items in inventory when they're not real hot sellers. BTW, you can easily paint them about any color you want. I was just happy they made them because prior to the release of the .308 Pmags the available mags for that platform were all garbage.

Is there a specific paint that you use? I would be worried it may cause some kind of warping. Id love to paint the recessed squares or raised sections to match the magpul fde.
