    is the cleaning of a firearm after a custom coatings job like those, the same as before it was coated? or does one have to use a special cleaner?

    Yes, You can still clean it the same way. Technically, since it is a Ceramic based coat all you really have to do it wipe it down with a Rag. Cerakote is made to with stand high heat, rust and corrosion.

    That rifle has about 1500 rounds threw since I put cerakote on it and I don't even Lube/Oil it. Works like a champ.

    Out of all my guns the only thing I Oil/lube are the springs (since you can't coat them) and Firing pins.


    And I test the hell out of my guns.
