Ok how about going old school... I bet no one can tell me what they all are. Yes there is enough in the picture to tell.

ANd the big one, a 12 pounder.
BTW that is the size of the ball, 12# or 4.5" it weighs in about 300-400#.

 

And the little one, it is a GB mortar, copy of the Dictator at about 50-60# of steel.

 

Hard to tell from this angle but it looks like you've got at least one Bess up there. You're missing a Fusil de Chasse




Or a nice French mortar (although not mine...yet...)

I'm building a 24# US mortar now, tube is done, Steel work is done, working on the base.

No Bess in the picture, in fact, no flinters.

 

Thought the second down from top was by the trigger guard. I only do flintlock, no percussion. Rev War reenactor.

I'm really pleased with it. It took me over a year of collecting parts in a drawer as I got the money to buy them. I created a registry to help me keep track of my research and what I had already bought and what I still needed to buy. Also, when birthdays, Christmas, etc. came around, I told friends and family to buy me something off the registry - too easy.

Does anyone shoot 7.62x51mm? If so is it worth the extra money to buy a gun that shoots them or should I go with a 5.56?

 

If you don't yet own a rifle that shoots 5.56 go that route. Much better luck finding ammo to feed it in any situation.

 

Yeah I don't have anything with a 5.56 yet, all I have is a Remington 700 30.06, Springfield Xd 40 and a Sig Sauer P250 and a Binelli Super Nova Pump 12 ga

 

Focus on NATO rounds. Your XD 40 isn't a NATO round so if shit goes south you will have a harder time finding ammo. Popular NATO handgun calibers are 9mm & .45ACP (NOT .45GAP) so maybe consider one or both of those to make it easier to find ammo in any situation. Not a requirement but that's where I focus my efforts before I move onto boutique calibers.

 

Ahh I see. Yeah I'd love to get another 1911 but I need an AR type gun now. Ill start looking at more guns that are 5.56. Hard to find one these days.
