With optics, I'd pay $10K for a few guns out there - if someone is willing to pay for it, then it's worth the price :)

An AI/AQ or AX with some S&B or US Optics on it would be worth that. I'd pay that for a Cheytac with the right optics/options.

I can even see paying that for a Surgeon / GAP with the right optics/stock/goodies.

Hell if I win the lottery, $10k guns all around :D

I traded my Para Ordnance 1911 G.I. Expert a few days ago...

Sad to let it go, I absolutely loved it. But I needed something easier to conceal in the summer, so I traded straight up for a brand new Glock 23 Gen 4.

Thought this might be a good place to put this question. I recently inherited my father in-laws gun collection. In it, was a mid 1960's Remington 700 300 Win Mag that I am looking to get rid of. It is in near perfect shape with a 3x9 Bushnell adjustable scope. A family friend is interested in buying it from me. Anyone know what a fair price is for this gun?

Not a clue, but you ft a picture?

I live old guns, that would also help in determining value

Also, does anyone know if pre '68 applies to remington or just winchester?

That one has an HS Precision Stock and a Broughton Barrel that's been machined by GAP (it's actually for a Surgeon Action, but it fit my 700 receiver).

My son's setup (the other rig similar to that one only with the uncoated/unfluted barrel and Tan goodies) is a Hart barrel with a B&C Stock on it - I honestly don't see where the extra $100 went on the HS Precision stock - the B&C is just as practical.

Here's a better pic of my son's setup:

Considering the 700 we know came around in the 60s, and the 300 Win Mag was made a factory chambering in the 60s, your gun might have some collectors value. Or, maybe not. But if it didn't have collectors value it would still be worth around $450.

I don't know what you're referring to. Do you mean the model change the Win Model 70 went through in 1964? When you hear the term "Pre '64", it's referring to the Model 70 specifically.

    I meant '64

I know it refers to the winchester model 70s and 94s (got one of those lol)

I couldn't remember off the too of my head if it mattered with remington.

Because I didn't have a proper shooting lane at the target from the kitchen.

Does this count as pre '64?

I'm thinking about redoing the top one to tactical lever gun it's an old...no value

    I'm kidding by the way

This one was made in 1914, idk about the marlin

On another note, I've got an ithaca 37 that I am hoping to short barrel sometime within a year or so, it has those rolled engravings on it, anyone know of a good way to remove them?

My current idea had to do with a bead blaster, JB weld, and some olive drab durabake or cerakote.

And this is what I'm shooting for (no pun intended) with the 36 build

I really want a lever action rifle! I'll probably end up with a bolt action though, they seem to be more readily available up here. I found a Ruger .308 that caught my eye locally. Not sure if I'm going to bite or not.
