From the Manufacturer. *** The Law Tactical Folding Stock Adapter is not intended to be fired when folded***

    :spy:

This is basically how my ground level safe in our master closet is. Bolted to the floor & three walls behind some clothes and that thing was a bear to get in when it was empty and wasn't bolted in place. It's not going anywhere even if someone knows it's there. I keep a few long rifles & pistols and mags n such all in a ready to roll state. It's easier depending on what I'm wearing or what the desired carry is to have options handy in the master closet. I also keep various house clearing setups depending on what the occasion calls for.

I've got a similar setup and it's one of my favorite shooters. The barrel & suppressor are as long as my non-NFA AR15's w/o suppressor. What's your load? I'm shooting factory 220's out of mine and it eats it up like Pez.

It was on sale on Labor Day so I said why not...added a bunch of Magpul MOE parts and BCM charging handle:

My current "bulk" subsonic load is 10.5 gr of 1680 under a 220 gr SMK with a COAL of 2.13" or so. I've only used it in my bolt gun, but it should cycle the action on my AR as well. We'll see.

Oh, and that's a nice setup! I have a transverse EOTech and I like it a lot!

Have you tried installing a dehumidifier close by the safe? Put some socks full of rice in the safe too...

Got a buddy who had some issues and started hanging a knee high nylon full of rice in his safe. Switched it out every other month. Issues went away. Just an idea.

Hm, I wonder if that's more of a liability waiver going on than some sort of engineering concern. Don't see how that adapter takes any sort of significant load while being fired in the folded position.

Where's the bolt going to go? You could probably make one that physically allows a shot to be fired, but only one, and with no ejection. Seems like a great way to complicate things.

Talking about using it with a Faxon upper. The vid that was posted showed multiple shots being fired with the stock folded. That's not an issue with that upper apparently. Just wondering why the manufacturer said it shouldn't be done. Possibly other AR uppers that accommodate a folding stock have a different system that doesn't allow that? Just curious why the manufacturer would make that statement when it is doable with the Faxon upper because mechanically I don't see any issue with it.

    Edit: http://www.guns.com/2012/11/16/law-tactical-pre-order-gen-2-ar-folding-stock-adapter/

Yea, sounds like the manufacturer's statement was meant for uppers that style require a buffer tube. The ARAK is a different story, so it should be good to go.

I'm guessing the Law adapter came out before the ARAK upper did - since most AR-pattern rifles require the extension tube and buffer, their statement makes sense.

The ARAK in the video looked like it was firing with no adapter and/or extension tube at all (when they were demoing the 'fire folded' feature) - they say you can fire it folded, but never show it specifically. Probably worth an email to Law Tactical to clarify, but I can't imagine it wouldn't be good to go on the ARAK...

I have a dehumidifier close by that runs in my basement, and i would recomend rice like has been posted, or

i like these (or you can buy just the beads for line dryers and use your own container)

For off the shelf AR with a nice pricetag i like these!

Pmags are great but i like my lancer L5awm better now.. if you keep some mags stored you can see your ammo mix with them.

or you can load different color pmags for easy identification too

Here are some nicer pics of the SOPMOD Block II project I've been putting together.

The base gun is an LMT 14.5" Defender 2000 with added:
    Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS II
    B5 SOPMOD Bravo stock
    Tango Down VFG
    Trijicon TA31 ECOS-G

I used a Unity Tactical Fusion hub and front sight instead of the standard issue KAC, because for $200 I need a sight that does more than just be a sight. The Fusion hub doubles as a light mount as well.

Scrub it with a dry shop cloth to get off any loose top stuff and then hit it with some Turtle wax chrome polish and rust remover. Should be good to go.

any time you use steel wool make sure to blow off what you scrubbed with compressed air etc because if you leave it sitting there like you said it will get rust stains
