    :D:D:D:D:D
Bought mine used for $100. Previous owner hadn't cleaned it and the barrel rusted. He then made it worse by trying to clean up using sandpaper and a wooden dowel. Sanded so much out of the inside that the bullet practically rattled down the barrel. Figured he'd ruined the gun so he sold it dirt cheap. Idiot.
I bought a new barrel and I've been shooting it ever since. I've probably put 4-5k rounds through it since.

My old man gotnonenof those. Very nice. Before that he had a S&W 15-22 I like the sig a lot better.

I have 10/22's myself and I enjoy them. Just haven't wanted to spend the extra coin on a 22 rifle over the 10/22 since I like it so much.

I hear that by the time you have it modded to an almost AR Clone, you've spent just as much.

I might have a hard time buying one before I owned one but now that I've owned one I would have no problem paying for one. They're much cheaper to shoot and can be set up like your 'real' AR15 to be able to train with and much of what you learn will carry over since most all AR15 accessories are compatible. I have a buddy who did an Archangel 10/22 conversion (actually, I did it for him) and it doesn't compare. Nice to plink with but most will outgrow them. In this arena you definitely get what you pay for.

I can top that... an indoor range I'm a member of gave me one. Actually, it was a drawing and since I bring them a lot of business somehow I mysteriously 'won' the big price in the drawing. Funny part is I didn't even know I had registered. I gladly took it though and it's got a TON of use from my and anyone who wants to shoot it over the years. Fun little rifle.

    mosin-nagant
The Mosin-nagant is an old school bolt action rifle from Russia. Originally designed by a drunk Russian engineer and an even more drunk Belgian gunsmith, who drew up blueprints on napkins in the back of a pub somewhere in Siberia in a vodka-induced stupor. The Mosin-nagant fires the 7.62x54r cartridge, which can kill a polar bear at a thousand yards and keep going right through the tree he was standing in front of. The Mosin-nagant was used by the Russians in both world wars, so it's killed more Germans than collisions on the autobahn and under-cooked sauerkraut combined. Surplus Mosins can be found at gunshops in the States for like a hundred bucks on sale, and ammo is cheap surplus, so this is what real men shoot who don't want to drop $1299.99 on an AR-15 which fires a .22 round and that's made out of recycled milk jugs and Legos. Many of them come with a bayonet that's roughly the size of the sword William Wallace used in Braveheart. In the absence of gun oil, you can clean a Mosin by pissing down the barrel and wiping the bolt off with a dirty rag that you found on the floor in a Grease Monkey. Try that with a rifle that was designed less than 50 years ago.

Joe: " I need a rifle that is ten feet long and fires anti-tank rounds, but Ive only got 200 dollars!"

Ivan: "Amerikan comrade, you need mosin-nagant . Spend 100 on the rifle, fifty on case of ammo, use rest for vodka!"

In Soviet Russia, rifle fire you!!!

Right about the sig or 15-22 being better value for ar type platforms.

I personally like it in old skewl 10/22 trim one with wood stock and stainless barrel and the other is a take down model with srainless barrel ans synthetic stock.

For AR I just play with my AR and leave 22lr out of it.

That's why I had mentioned it. I had heard of issues with the 870express, but at $325 i couldnt pass it up.

I have the basic NRS Gen 2...

I dig the 522 so far, only a few hundred rounds though. With my daughter just turning six, this will be a great platform for her to learn. She could always step on her next birthday. Remington 700P

That's also a line that is often misquoted. Admiral Yamamoto never said that. I guess it's true what they say about the winner writing the history books. ;)

Yea, that's what I've heard. Overly quoted enough times its lost its impact anyway. Gosh I love that shorty Garand though. It would much my scout M14 and Ruger Scout rifle perfectly.

Regardless of who said it or when it's a very true statement and continues to be the primary reason behind the fact that nobody would dare invade.

Thats where the russian guns come in :)

    I personaly love my scar16 and m1a socom 16

I recently got my scar 17, and im so much in love with my m1a its a hard choice which one to upgrade first. Probably the m1a because as it sits mags for my scar17 are $$$

Im in love with my scar16, at first i bought it because i couldn't find a 17 and i got tired of AR-15 platforms.. And then after shooting it and playing with it i feel like its the perfect balance of all of the AR-15 options out there and no stupid buffer tube. Also i have fired every kind of cheap ammo and good ammo and so far it eats everything without fail.

I really would like to get an FAL someday too
