I used to have that mentality. Now I just have a couple good setups for SD for myself and loved ones and the rest are for collecting and all legal purposes (those who have NFA items will get that last part :p) I'm getting greedy in my old age. :D

No I just polished it. It's actually stock except for the G17(smooth face) trigger and the Glock extended slide release and the Warren Tactical sights and the CT. Ok, it's not stock but the internals are.

IDK. I have five brands of striker fired polymers, but I've never priced an XD.

Just refinished the slide on my green XD actually. Pre-melonite gun; the slide got some surface rust a couple times. KG Gun Kote. Photo isn't the best - the light makes it look kind of uneven.

Okay. The xd-9 above is mine. I have a few trade offers. One is a Rem 700 ADL synthetic in .270, along with a hard case and a Leupold Rifleman 3-9x50. The Rifleman is kind of their walmart version, but still a $250+ scope. A second trade I'm interested in is a Savage 10 FXP, has the accutrigger, accustock, and a cheaper Bushnell scope (package). Guy says he bought it new a few months ago and will also include 2 boxes of ammo plus $125 cash. Are these fair trades and what is the better trade?

I would like to have either one of those rifles. I like the .270 round myself.

I like the .270, but I like the .308 too. I already have a go to Rem 30-06 for hunting. But I'd like to have a backup if a friend wanted to come hunting or the unlikely chance that something happened to my 30-06. Both rounds have reasonably easy to find ammo and are good deer rounds. My trouble with the .270 is the Leupold scope. The Leupold name is supposed to be pretty high up there in regards to scopes. But I've heard and read that they really didn't come up to their usual par with the rifleman; that basically it's overpriced when compared to performance just because it has their name and a gold ring around it. I've personally never looked through one. With the .308 Savage, I've got a basically brand new rifle. It has a scope, but those that come in packages are pretty sub-par. But I do know that with the extra $125 the guy offers that I could make something happen. I could use the extra $125 towards buying a Nikon Prostaff pretty cheap. I could also sell the cheap Bushnell and use the extra $125 to get a Nikon Buckmaster. I got a Prostaff recently and have really been impressed for the money I spent.

I thought 700s were like $700. If so that would be a good trade alone.
