it depends on the options. I have seen them from $450-sky high

also, the 30-06 is basically the same performance as .308 or visa versa, so if your looking at using them for the same thing then they will be a closer match for behavior

    .270 is sweet though :)

did they ever fix the whole "optics interfere with charging handle" thing with the SCARs?

I would do horrible, dirty things for one of those... :spy:

what is the issue you mean?

I have played with a few friends optics and cheap ones on my 16 and have had zero issues.

If its what i am thinking its a prefference thing since the charging handle is on one side or the other, instead of at the rear like an ar-15..

I have no on-hand experience with it, but a friend of mine that played with ones issued to the Rangers said some guys had problems with how high the charging handle is/close to the optics rail it is.

It looks pretty damn high too

^and i wanted one for a long long time before i got one, some people dont think they are worth the price, and they probably are overpriced in a way

BUT i wanted it, and its perfect in that i wanted an off the shelf gun that was proven and reliable but still accurate.

AR platforms tend to be so picky, and good at one thing or the other etc. That and i really hate that you can't fold most.

AK's well.. they are AK's i would like one but its not what i really want as a one and only type deal.

The scar shoots super smooth, and aside from a trigger job and optics there arent many things i care to do to it.

Trigger job for the 17, the 16 is just fine i dont need or want a better trigger for 300 meters :)

I think i have head of this, and some of the quick release mounts. BUT the charging handle can be used on either side, and they have offset charging handles now if you feel the need to upgrade/change it.

I havent had nearly enough time to shoot mine recently :(

it is high, but its better high than low since it is reciprocating (probably spelled wrong lol)

You should send it to me, I'll break 'er in for ya :D!!

like in that pic though, if you have a mid mounted optic like a red dot or a scope, with gloves I'd imagine it'd be a pain in the ass

but again, I havent fondled one enough to know what she likes

...and would still do horrible things for one

Right about gloves to a point, if you had snow gloves on it may be hard, IF your optics or mounts had sharp edges to catch you gloves.

I only wear combat/thin gloves if i wear any and generaly play just the tip with the charging handle so i dont see it as a problem. If you had a particularily wide base accessory on the top maybe, but i would just swap it for an offest charging handle.

Just recently Dan Wesson re-opened it's doors after a major fire in thier warehouse. They are now making parts again for their revolvers. I can't quite understand why they're not making complete guns, but oh well.

Here is my Palmer manufactured 744 with a new production 4VHC barrel assembly. (44 magnum with 4" Vented Heavy Compensated)

The barrel stops under the front sight and the rest of the shroud is the compensator.

I'm going to have a holster made for this beast. :)
