My 'new' Type 99 Arisaka. Traded a little bitty trailer to my boss for it. Still has the emperor's mark on it and all. It's only missing the dust shield and a piece of the aircraft sight. Badass little piece of history right here. It works too, cos I fired it before last time we went shooting.

That's gonna be sick! Aren't you worried about the height over bore with a LaRue mount, though?

Sort of... But it's 56mm objective and from what I understand from LaRue the QD mount that I ordered was built for the PM 2 and they compensated for it.... Although with the 20 MOA base we will see... Hope it won't be to much of an adjustment issue... That's what your talking about right ???

The higher your scope's centerline is above the bore, the higher your cheek riser needs to be in order to gain a proper cheek weld.
Of course, I don't even know what mount you got, so if you say it's made for that scope, then there's probably nothing to worry about. But the vast majority of LaRue's stuff is made for semi auto rifles. Just a thought! I could just be talking out of my ash hole.

Gotchya... What nice with the a5M is that it's fully adjustable for length of pull and cheek rest... But what I'm worried about is if it will through off Ballistic calculations... From what I understand it won't be by much... What you think... Btw you got more specs on the rifle you just posted looks like a bad ass 300 WM...

Oh, you're fine, then. I was thinking you were going to have to install a big ol' adjustable cheek riser.

That rifle is just a stock 700 5R 300 Win Mag. Nothing special there.
The mount is a Nightforce steel base with Vortex/Seekins rings. The scope is a Weaver Tactical 3-15 EMDR that I can't seem to let go. It's such a good scope for the money that it makes it really hard to throw down the extra cash on anything else right now. Once it dies, if it ever does, I will move on to a Mark 6 or something, but this thing is just so good.
Muzzle device is a PWS FSC30.

As it sits, this is a solid 1600 yard rifle with 208 AMAX. I guess if I load them really hot it's closer to a mile, but 1600 seems close enough to me without having to worry too much about blowing my face or hand off:eek:

Nice man... Ain't nothing wrong with a rely 700... I appreciate people and there rifles that notice when you get more bang for your buck... I can't even imagine shooting a mile my .308... I can lob it down there but it will go transonic waayyyyy before that....

Yea man I have been waiting a long time for this rifle to be complete.... And it's finally coming together...

Well, I've got a spot in Ocotillo Wells where my friend and I have done the one+ mile shot in the past with a .338LM if you guys ever want to try it. Just have to promise not to tell anyone where it is ;)

we've got a couple places up here like that too. Trick is not being too lazy to go to and back from the target to set up and take down:

Loved my P4F's but I finally sold them all when I had one fail on me during competition. It was a double turn elevation and the erector failed (wasn't tracking properly so actual elevation was completely unknown) after minimal use which is an issue they've long since corrected (so I've heard) but I was pretty pissed off since that's part of the reason you spend over $3k on an optic.

Oh, that looks like a lot of work. Haha. Not quite that hard to fetch your targets here. That looks beautiful, though. Much nicer than my spot.

Here's our spot. Shooting from a ridge into a canyon. There's a road on the left, so you only have to lug the 70lb steel about 600-700 yards. Only bummer is that this spot is only useable during the week. Too much off road traffic on the weekends and people stray into the canyone even though it's off limits.
