    It's a barrel shroud on a M&P 15-22. Came that way. My LMT SBR will look like that in another month or so.

    Why what?
    Why does it have a barrel shroud or why is my LMT going to look similar? If the later, I'm expecting a stamp for my AAC can soon.

    Why add weight for something that's not functional? Especially hanging out off the end of the barrel where it's most critical.

    The barrel shroud was on it when I bought it. It weighs close to nothing. It looks like my 5.56 set up so I like it.

    Close to nothing doesn't equal nothing. I just don't understand why anyone would want one of those on their firearm when it adds weight to the most critical area to add weight and those who know firearms think their silly anyway. Nothing personal I just don't understand it. I also don't understand adding neons to a car/motorcycle or blue headlights so who am I to know what's cool? You asked. I answered.

    The mag release angle is why I run them on my TRP Operator. I also have the 10-8 extended mag release, slide stop and a few other goodies. I have to admit, even after all of that I swap mags faster in my Glock with a $9 ext mag release.
