Meh. I had one along with a few other 12 gauges and had a hard time justifying having $2k tied up in a shotgun. Sold it and haven't missed it once.

When it comes to shotguns, KISS is key. 870, 500, 11-87, etc. I have a KSG too but I also wouldn't recommend this for a first/only shotgun.

Another comparable autoloader in or around that price range is perhaps the Remington 1100 Tactical. My dad loves his 11-87 as his primary hunting shotgun.

I found that I use(d) my 11-87 more than my similarly equipped M4 so that's why I sold the M4. I also just sold a couple of $500 Benchmade knives in favor of my $57 Kershaw Tanto Blur because sometimes less expensive means you can use it as it was designed w/o feeling guilty. The M4 12ga was one of those cases. I mean sure they're neat to show your friends like the M4 but when it comes down to it you want to be able to use it for purposes intended w/o feeling bad for doing so. I can use my 11-87 as a pry bar and not feel guilty about doing so. :D

Yep agreed. Don't need a $2000 shotgun because it's an M4. Whatever you want, need or fits your budget will work. I prefer a cheap Chinese IAC Hawk 982 > 870 or 500. The gun is built like a tank and shoots just as good or better that the 870. And for $150 you can't beat that. I now shoot, own and love my Winchester SXP Defender. Lots of people say get the 870 or 500. I've owned both before and when I felt the SXP it was built better. Yes it's built in Turkey but Winchester imports it. Just racking the slide and feeling the forgrip didn't have the wobble of the 500. I am happy. No regrets.

I've also got a Charles Daly SP Tactical Auto that I like just as much as my 11-87 and in some ways I actually prefer it. I've been tempted to sell it over the years just because I don't do a lot of shotgunning anymore and have been trying to narrow down things I consider an analog of something else I already have but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Color filling letters on firearms looks terrible IMO.
