It's a Seekins Precision MCSR V2 12" rail paired with their IRMT-R upper

Thought that was the seekins rail, which i am planning on using. How nice is that upper and would you think the rail would work just as well on a standard upper?

Trying to save alittle on the build

The upper pairs seamlessly with the rail. It's integral mount system makes installation a breeze. Gas tube hole and rail are perfectly aligned. I've used the supplied barrel nut on other builds without issue, the shim alignment system is pretty easy to use and both provide for a solid mount. You can't go wrong with Seekins equipment

It's not the same as 300 Blackout FYI. Just get Blackout. SAAMI round vs wildcat round that both do basically the same thing. AAC/Remington also didn't trademark the 'Blackout' name so that's why everyone and their dog makes Blackout and nobody makes Whisper. SSK really screwed the pooch on that one. Personally, I don't own non-SAAMI rounds because it's not worth the headache when you can get basically the same SAAMI round for the same price or less money in most cases.

I love the look of suppressors inside of rails but if you run it extensively you'll likely sell the rail and get a shorter one as they get hotter than sh!t which is no fun. That rail will vent better than some others but it will still warm up. Also, if you need to pull the suppressor for some reason you'll muck up your purty rail.

This I know, but I'm buying the barrel used (I hope) and he has had no problem shooting blackout or whisper in the barrel. It just won't stabilize 220 grain rounds, stabilized the 208 amax bullets though if I remember correctly

No heat issue with subs.. It gets warm with supers though. If it was a 5.56 platform, I defiantly wouldn't try to nest the can. It's a QD suppressor, so removal is pretty easy.

This round was DESIGNED to run short barrel and subs. That's the whole point so if it doesn't run subs that's kind of a big deal. He's selling used because he likely will be replacing with Blackout himself. Some rounds/chambers are interchangeable but it's not universal compatibility so, like I said, it's not worth it man. If you want that round just get a Blackout barrel and be done with it. Yes it costs more because it's better. You have to be careful buying someone's used stuff because lots of times there's a reason they're selling it. If it wasn't for wanting a short barrel that I plan to only run suppressed I wouldn't own a 300BLK rifle. If you have no plans to do this the round is not really worth it IMO and Whisper isn't worth the effort if you gave me the barrel for free. Save yourself the headache and stay clear of a used Whisper barrel.

If you're running semi-auto subs and firing at lower rates with time between and not hammer firing & swapping mags you'll probably be alright. I know I swore never to go that route again for various reasons but I do like the way it looks.

I'm buying a used contender whisper barrel rather an an AR, which will make some difference, he is selling because he has 2. I've shot the barrel already and it works fine. I'm going to be able to mount it on my frame and shoot it before I buy it

And it runs subs just fine, not 220 grain, but the 208 amax bullets and should run the 183 grain gem tech subs as well. It just has a slower twist rate.
