Hey Masada nice collection man. Is that an Aimpoint M3? It looks like one, how do you like it. Also do you have something that mounts behind it, just wondering why its mounted so far forward, and on a cantilever arm.

Ah good eyes there man, I come from an old school of thought on the Aim-point being mounted farther forward than closer. And yes I do now have Troy Industry flip up BDU sights behind and in front of the Comp M3.

I love that sight and would never go to anything else.

The reason it sits so far forward is so it doesn't impede your field of view when scanning for targets. I shoot with both eyes open and just rest the Red Dot on my target. For me target acquisition is much faster and I get the whole picture not just the one I'm looking at.

    RCBS:
I hand cut the pattern for the rifle out of the stencils that came with the paint. I didn't like how theres were so big and wanted it smaller, it literally took me 7 days to get this rifle done and many many late nights.

Did you go with the 2 or 4 moa sight (I also shoot with both eyes open, even on fixed sights).

Again, great looking guns, I've been planning on getting the M3, and just haven't decided if I want the quicker target acquisition of the 4moa or the accuracy of the 2, I've been leaning toward the 4.

2 MOA all day man...you can turn the brightness up on the aimpoint and it gets bigger. I have never had a hard time getting my sight on target.

Best deal on an aimpoint was here when I got mine
    http://www.botachtactical.com/aicoml3si2md.html

    found a better deal now

If and when you do it, give your self enough time and make sure you read the directions. I wanted a flat look and mixed the first batch correctly, but each coat after that I mixed wrong and it came out gloss. But I had a final coat that was clear and made that my flat look, so it came out ok. Just give your self enough time to finish the project, you only have 7 days to put all your coats on. Oh and get a good quality spray I used this one from harbor freight it took some engineering, but I got it to work with my compressor.

Clean looking rifle. How does the camo wrap hold up to the heat of the barrel?

So far so good. It never gets shot enough consecutively to get the barrel that hot anyway.

My wife's brother is a SWAT sniper/K9 and he just painted his rifle. I'm thinking of doing mine similar but more desert-like.

    thanks for the tips man!

i had the wrap stuff on my 10/22 for a bit, but took it off for fear of it ruining the finish on my stock. never had any problems with heat (i sometimes shoot 400-500 rds in a few hours), but was concerned about moisture getting trapped in the wrap material, which you obviously don't need to worry much about. plus, it was hampering the bling factor of my hammer forged SS barrel also. :D overall though, seems like a good product. it offers almost too much grip. you been having any luck with the 'yotes?

Not really. I have not been getting out much but I did scope out a new area that looks promising and is a lot closer to my house. Hopefully I'll get out this week and try my luck. I still need to kill some ducks...

    Thanks man :)

That is probably my most prized pistol I have, it's has to be my favorite to shoot and carry around. I have the black hawk SERPA holster for it and it fits like a glove.

Kimber Custom II with Ergo grips and WilsonCombat mag well.

My kimber was less than a SA...and it shoots better too...

    SA $744
    http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_24/products_id/43756

    Kimber Custom II $700
    http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411534035/cPath/40

Plus if you go to the gunshow, I see prices lower than that everywhere. I but I could find you one for around $650-$675 at the show.

We plan on going to the next one on Dec 3rd. it's going to be huge! You are more than welcome to come along, I have negotiated my fair share of deals there maybe I can help you?

Just picked up 500 rounds of XM193 for 199 bucks :D

I know what I'm doing on Friday!

    :infantry:

-I'm thinking of picking up some the the 62gr m855 ammo - anyone have any experience with it? Its the steel core penetration rounds, little heavier, supposed to be more accurate at longer distances.

I just picked up this SKS last week from a buddy for super cheap. He bought it brand new back in 1989 and never once shot it! It still had all the cosmoline grease all over it when I got it!
    100_3784_02634350a5be8a2a1a8ec3dca422eaf2d9a8065f.jpg

One week later and now it looks like this:

Not to bad for around $400.00 total!!
