I had an ACOG on my service rifle and loved it, until I found out the price... now I have an EoTech 553 on my personal AR. Personally If you already have an EoTech I would Recommend just getting the drop down G33 magnifier. It is the best of both worlds. You have no magnification when you want and 3x when you need it. Also its only $500ish for G33 and $1300-1400 for a new ACOG. Below you can see the combo, the G33 drops to the right when you don't need it.

I do, a few years ago there was a Marine over run of TA31R's and I bought a couple for $900 OTD [each] Came with cleaning kit, diffuser and pouch. Really like them but they aren't as fast as EOTech's close up. However, they dont have the EOTech shift problem when they are exposed to cold temps. [lots of info on that] That said, I've never had any issues with my EOTech but many others have.

I'm not sure if I want to keep my EoTech after hearing about their thermal drift issues and getting sued by the federal government for it. Although I haven't had problems with mine...if you have that set up could you take a pic of what it looks like through the magnifier? I used my buddys the other day and it was awful, very blurry.

I am not sure about any major issues with the EoTech, I used 553 when not using an ACOG in service. I chose to have it on my personal AR now. There is another option as well. I know Aimpoint offers a similar set up if you just want a magnified red dot, I am not sure of the model number though. I still would get the ACOG if you have the cash and want to spend it. As far as a pic of the G33, its not mine but... Hope this info helps

Wow that looks a lot better than the one I saw. Maybe it was set up in the wrong spot. Thanks for the pic. Did you have any issues with the eye relief on the ACOG?

No, eye relief was great as long as you had it just before the rear iron sight and your stock out at least one maybe two clicks. I will see if I have a pic of my rifle from back then

I've wanted the Glock 26 for a long time. I've messed around a lot with my best friend's G26, and liked it a lot. Solid choice, and ammo isn't horribly expensive compared to others. This one came with 4 mags. Three are +1 with pinky extension, one is a +2 with pinky extension. I already did a "temporary" trade with Robert. Gave him a +1 to try out, and he gave me one of the regular ones to try. Just wanna look at all options, and this way we didn't spend any more just yet. It also came with a 3.5 lb trigger installed and a stainless steel guide rod. Left me the originals in the plastic containers that the upgraded parts came in. Also gave me a speed loader. I will be changing the trigger out for the Siderlock (formerly known as the G-Lock, if I recall correctly) one and will probably put night sights on it. Also looking into other holsters. Plan on buying at least one box of ammo per paycheck as well.

Any particular reason for installing that trigger?

I'm not overly fond of easy triggers like the one the previous owner had installed on this one. In the event that my gun ever found itself in a child's hands (I have many other measures that would prevent that from happening, such as common sense, and locking firearms up when not being carried) but I would feel better with that little extra piece of precaution. I would never expect or intend for one of my firearms to end up in the hands of a child, but I would rather be safe than sorry. The little slide lock trigger dealie would be one more step the child would have to go through before firing the gun, and most kids would likely not even notice it.
So pretty much, it just makes me feel a little better, even though I would never leave my firearms within a child's reach. Just want to be as reasonably safe as possible.

As with all 6 of my Glocks two 19's/23/26/27/30 I have found that if you pull out the trigger bar, connector, firing pin safety and polish them on a high speed buffing wheel and change the springs to the Wolf Lone Wolf 3.5# connector,Lone Wolf mid-weight striker spring and Glock factory trigger spring. You can achieve a trigger pull of around 4.25/4.5 lbs and have one of the smoothest pulls and resets going for little money.

I do the same (polishing). Just be careful with the very back edge of the cruciform. You don't want to round off/dull that angle that releases the striker.

Any recommendations for a good synthetic stock and forend for a Remington 870. Not a huge fan of the wood finish.

I've used the Speedfeed with the pistol grip, the Hogue youth and the Mesa Urbino. The Urbino is on there right now, but I don't know if it's for sure the best. It's definitely the most expensive, lol.
