yeah ive had the xd since they first came out(has made in croatia on top of slide. not everyone knows that the xd line was modeled after the croation hs9000 ) ive got around 10,000 rounds through it. one of my most accurate and reliable handguns.
as for the shotty, its absolutely rediculous to be able to unload 9 rounds of 00 buck as fast as i can pull the trigger(very fun)

glocks are awesome. i have a glock 19, and i like it a lot. if it's for your wife, just keep in mind there's no thumb safety on it, so if there's a round in the chamber, pressing the trigger is all it takes.

i prefer the xd over the glock only because of the design. the grip on the xd is at a more acute angle in relation to the barrel/slide than the glock series. when shooting the glock, i have to consciously angle my wrist downward before each shot, so i can get a correct sight alignment. with the xd, aiming is more natural and comfortable.

i would say take your wife to a gun shop that has both xd and glock, and have her hold each in her hand. have her aim in at something in front of her, arm extended. then have her close her eyes and relax her arm and hand to where it feels naturally extended. have her open her eyes and observe where the gun is pointing. do this with both handguns, and whichever keeps closer to the inital point of aim, should be the one to get. it's the 'natural point of aim' concept we get taught in the military.

also, i highly recommend checking out the xd-m 3.8 in 9mm.

    hope it helps :)

i think that's pretty bad-ass! gives the gun the classic look, plus it's personalized, PLUS it shows you have a good wife who cares about her husband's likes and hobbies :)

    what's not to like?

X2 on shooting them. Shoot as many as you can get your hands on. Whatever you find that's reliable, comfortable to shoot, accurate, and affordable is what you need.
If you aren't comfortable practicing with it, it's no good for you.
    Happy gun hunting:)

Is that a Kahr PM9 or 40? Great guns.

However, I'm trading my PM9 on Sunday for a S&W 686 on Sunday. I really dig the PM9 I think I either want something bigger and easier to handle or smaller and deal with the smaller caliber.
