I'd recommend getting the S&W Shield EZ 380 or 9 for your mom. It's probably the best pistol on the market for Seniors and people with physical strength issues. My mom has the 380, she's 77 and had a broken wrist a few years ago. My SIL has the 9, she's only 40 but also had a broken wrist from a car accident. Both have had zero issues operating the EZ.

I picked this one up at the gun show last weekend. Ruger MkIII Hunter, 7" barrel. Used, but cleaned up like new and came with the box tools and paperwork, $600. Shoots as good as it looks. I've been wanting one of these for a while. I had a 22/45 Mk III; it shot great, but wasn't nearly as pretty. I took it to sell and didn't even make it inside before somebody bought it in the parking lot. Got what I wanted for it, he got a good pistol.

I have no strength issues but love my EZ9. Shoots great, super eazy and quick to rack, and mag is easy to load with the follower tabs

I love the hunter but went with the slabside instead. It was the last one and the cocobola grips had been scratched so Sportsman’s took a $100 bucks off the price! Too good of a deal to pass up. It’s a nice shooter.
