Has anyone mounted 305/70R16s on their 3rd gen? I have these tires from my FJ and thinking about moving them to the Taco... not sure if my 3inch lift is enough clearance and what offset/spacer is needed.

For some reason tire clearance depends on the truck. From what I gather (and personal experience with 285/75/16 w/ - 12mm offset) you're going to have to do a cmc and hammer the pinch weld under the well plastic for sure. Most likely will have to heat up and push the front bumper away from the tire too. You may fit it with no compression but as soon as you're turned and the wheel travels up it will rub more than seniors at prom.

This is the reality no matter how people feel about it. Plan on cutting and hammering and chopping now so you don't get pissed off latter.

Thanks for the input Ravnikar610, that is good info. I haven’t heard about heating and pushing the front bumper mod... time for a search.
