Yeah the Prusa is very good for the money, and is well thought out. I also use the IKEA lack table cover with plexiglass sides to keep a uniform temp, but PETG is fairly well behaved anyway.

I have had luck with threads if they are not carrying much load and model as class 1A/B if both are printed, or 2A in the previous part worked interfacing with a machined thread, usually run PETG with 200um layers. If it needs to carry load I steal the trick I saw Prusa using and design in a cavity or slot to slide in a nut.

F360 is very different than Creo. The subtlety of part features vs assembly all wrapped in one model is the hardest thing to sort out for me. Although I recently discovered how stupid simple the rib and web tools are to use which is very handy, so it has some perks.

It also helps to remember design for manufacturing.. any thin walls that are vertically orientated on the build plate work best if you can make them a multiple of the nozzle diameter.

I just printed up a couple racks to keep these tools off my desk. I designed them in tinkercad because it's fast and easy.

If you are new to CAD I would suggest starting out with tinkercad. It is the same company as Fusion 360 (in fact you use the same account to login) but is way easier to begin designing on. Once you get the hang of it then move onto fusion 360. If you don't know you can get a free 360 account as long as you don't make over a certain amount per year from using it.

I just made a roof rack for my 10th scale 4Runner using only tinkercad.

Swapped out my shifter knob for the TRD one and was left with the ugly chrome cap at the top of the boot. Half a beer, a minute with calipers, two minutes on Tinkercad, and 9 minutes of printing later:

Stupid simple cap, it press fits on, doesn't snap in or anything. We'll see how it holds up!

Sorry, I just had to redo the top rack. I didn't leave enough space for the drivers and although I measured the width of the bottom of the handle it did not print correctly. It caused the drivers to keep falling out of their spots. Now it is fixed. Stuff happens. Luckily it is easy to fix and re-print.

There is a printer at work - I'd like to get a wrench holder like the one here - do you have something you could share so I could get it made ?? Thanks for any reply.

Got a heater in my enclosure. And in typical fashion that turned into a huge project that ended in me rewiring my whole printer. But the new electronics drawer looks great. And I have enough room to add more stuff20210109_131638_HDR.jpg

    Edit: Added .stl file
also, just snapped one (it's minus 5 C out) so thinking PETG might not be the best material - I had to use the heat gun to bend it in the first place. Might try TPU if my local shop has some.

Dang! I am glad I found this thread. I am really wanting a new front badge made up for my 2010 Taco. I loved that SW one that someone's son-in-law made for him. I want something similar but I want the emblem from The Mandalorian that the Armorer made for Din

Pretty stoked to have found this thread. I’m new to 3D printing, currently looking at the prusa mini. Any suggestions?

Fired up the printer for the first time in awhile, reworked a model that is on the backburner list, started it and head off to bed. and this is what I woke up to. It should have been this...

Nope, I've got some. Thank you for asking. Now just have to get time to do some modifying!

I'll have to post some pictures when I do go ahead install them even though I didn't make them.
