This is great advice. I plan on getting into PETG soon enough. I'm just practicing more with my PLA that came with the printer then will definitely get some of that.

I 100% agree with this. All of my Cowl Intakes and any other products that are in the cab are out of PETG.
It is much easier to print than ASA, but I always struggle with the stringing.

    That's awesome man! Thanks

Thats sick. Nicely done. You should see if your slicer has a checkbox to stagger the layer start/stop points and blend that vertical seem on the left hand side running up it. Otherwise, looks like it fits great and looks great.

Thanks. I was reading about the scarf seam today. I use the creality slicer and it doesn't have that function yet.

You can also "paint" where the seam is. Maybe a corner would be best.

Trying to get these damn BP51 apart.. The shop that "rebuilt" them had some trouble and tore up the pin holes and I assume they had the right tools.. Saw someone post on here about Shock body clamps, went looking for them, saw soft jaw clamps, went looking, found some on Etsy that were 3d printed. So here I am printing my own.

I love a honeycomb mesh so I swapped out the original grille, but it needed something a bit more OEM'ish to tone it down a bit. Not 100% sure I like this version of it, but it'll do for now.

That's only 326mm in length from tip to tip. I tried to scale it to roughly 1/3 of overall width of the grille. My current workhorse printer is a Voron 2.4 350x350(mm) bed. If I oriented that badge diagonally, I could probably do 410mm or so at that width and still keep it flat on the bed. It is bigger than most people run, but man the extra size does come in handy. When I did the tail lights for my W460 my biggest printer was a 300mm diameter Rostock delta, so I had to print those at an angle with a shitload of supports to squeeze it into the build volume.

So what do y'all think about for safety reasons due to air bags, 3d printing an A pillar with a small speaker mount there. I am talking about the whole A pillar it will be made in probably three pieces out of abs or asa (probably asa due to UV).

Personally do not like the look of adding and screwing in an adapter piece just looks cheap and an after thought to me.

You'll love the way multi-piece 3D printed A-pillar trim will look... Not to mention how cool it will be when shards of plastic get blasted into your face at a couple hundred mph. It'll be close competition to the bedazzled steering wheel claymore.

If you do decide to print anything that sits between an airbag and people-meat. You might want to consider disconnecting that airbag. Personally I wouldn't even put a speaker pod, gauge pod, or any other fast and/or furious Pepboys bolt-on badassery on a trim panel with an airbag in it.

Has anyone played with adding a socket for an AirTag to either the back or tail end of the key fob? I am sick of using a key ring attached to the fob and a separate AirTag as the valet key pops out too easily if I forget and hold the AirTag and not the fob. Need to replace fob case anyway so thought this great thread might have a suggestion. Thanks!
