trying to get an idea of what i wanna do. im gonna install a defiant lightbar on my 4runner and im interested in what kind of lights i should get.

ive been reading around and there are so many different models of lights for each brand, i just have no idea whats going on.

right now my plan is to get 2 fog lights and 2 driving lights.

ive looked at the hella 500, dont know what the difference is to 500ff and the piaa 520 ions and atp.

im confused as to what ions atp and smr mean.

my main use for these will be in heavy snow/fog.

    recommendations?

Hid's provide a significantly larger amount of light for the wattage then say, xenon bulbs. More light=better visibility.

For bad weather though your going to want yellow lights, and mounted as low as possible. The higher frequency lights actually reduce contrast in fog/snow. IE: the ones that look white/blue.

IMO, go with either an HID or xenon light with a yellow filter on the lens. Also, a good old parabolic lens, the round lights, generally performs better then a square light. Exception to this is the LED lights. Though I have some questions about how much actual light they can produce without buying really expensive models.

How would one go wiring these kragen hids up safely? I just received a set and unsure how to wire it up to a switch.
