Nope, mine fits no problem. Those nuts on the back side are either on a plate together and will move around some or they have play individually. I am able start them all loosely, position the bumper, then tighten one bolt per side

I did it by myself and I'm not a big guy lol. I did make a pulley system on my carport which helped a lot

    Hello everyone
    New here,I have a 2012 Tacoma dclb
Just got my HC rear bumper from brute force,I don’t have instructions or not sure if it comes with any,,kinda hard getting hold of billy as he’s swamped and it took awhile to get the bumper which ended up being the wrong one,as I ordered the standard one
Looking for tips or instructions on how much to cut under rear lights?! I changed my mind once I saw the HC but kinda stressed cutting to install..anybody got info?!!! Thanks and have good weekend!

Both have been posted here before, probably others in here somewhere? Always recommended to measure lots, and error on the side of not cutting enough :)

BTW, HC looks better anyways

His instructions say to cut even with the bottom of th tail light, which should be 17” below the top of the bed. I cut another .5” below the tail light because I thought the gap was to big the other way.

Do the bumper and the bed get close to touching on flexing and comin down on the bumper hard? That the reason for the larger gap?

I just mounted it, but headed to Moab and SW Colorado in a couple of days. If it doesn’t touch there it won’t ever touch. My buddy has a Lexus GX 470 or something like that. He has a slee bumper that Wraps around like these and it is extremely close. He wheels it pretty hard and hasn’t had any issues. Lots of people add the extra 1/2”, so I can’t imagine it messing anything up.

Taping the end of the tape measure to something is a good way to measure. The picture shows painters tape, but I switched to gorilla tape. The body curves a lot in the area you are cutting, so I found it helpful to have both hands for marking the cuts.

Last I talked to Billy, he was shipping out a bunch of orders on June 21.
I know the east coast is far away, but its almost been a month.

I talked to my local Fastenal and they said they don't have anything for me yet.
    Advice?

Billy put the wrong cell phone number down for me so Fastenal has had it for a week and just reached back out to billy, who then texted me saying it's ready for pick up. Headed there first thing in the AM. Still took like 2-weeks to ship to me in Boston which when I called to see if it arrived yet Fastenal said they were shipping their own products at the time so it'd be another week before they could start shipping my bumper.
