I like how the sides of you HC "sweep" inward toward the tailgate... is that a custom thing you asked for or is that how they all come out?

yeah at the rear mounting points is what stops you from adjusting it up high is the bracket underneath the bed.

the rear does not flex as much as the front so i did this. the front will sit with gap as that flexes alot

grind the top of the mounting plate on the bumper so you can bring it closer to the bed, its hard to get pics of it already on the truck, just look at where your bumper mounts and you will see why

i have edge trim on mine but you get the overall picture

ah okay so you are grinding on the actual bumper replacement. I was thinking the mounting points on the frame

this is what you are grinding, mostly where the back slotted hole to the side pipe supports is a upper metal plate that stop s the bumper from going higher

It all depends on where each person made their cut to the bedside. They will all be slightly different.DC906FAD-F37A-4F69-B618-1FD45F62ABCF.jpg 50023F6B-514B-4B3C-9D5D-812D61501E2D.jpg

see how my grind isnt much, but it allows your bumper to move much higher up to reduce the gap between the bumper and light

ive done about 10 hc bumpers for people and on every one this is what stops fully adjusting in that gap.. and most cut flush down with the line of the taillight

Just depends on how you cut it like everyone said. I need to add some edge trim but the gap isnt huge. Went by what Billy recommend and went straight across.

ah ok this makes perfect sense now. you grind down the piece that lines up to those bolts up on the frame, that is also limiting the up travel because it hits the top part of the frame. thanks for that man ill have to do this when I get mine

@inesshell so....when "drawn with crayon" for those like myself who like it simplified this is what you ground down to make fit flush. My apologies for the aggravation I must cause with my over inquisitive self. I just wanted to be crystal... it looks as though the 3 bolts line up a little different than my illustration but I get the jist of it

You would grind off on the back portion since that bar is on the rear of the bed, not the single bolt towards the cab
