A lot of the trail runs here on this forum use CB. I use the HAM almost every single day though. It's fun being able to talk with people all the way in South Africa or Austrailia.

Right on, I know a lot of guys like the HAM just in case they need to call in emergency but I can see the entertainment side of it too.
Hit me up next time you go wheelin, pretty sure were close now.

Yea I originally got it for the emergency aspects but I have learned a lot more about it since getting my license. Yea I head down to San Diego sometimes to go wheeling. Just really busy with work coming up here soon as we are getting ready to pick up another class.

The longer the better. I'm not really a fan of the Firestiks though. JMO.

There are much better antennas out there for the same price. Also way too stiff for off roading. Again, JMO, run whatever you like.

Wait, Wait, Wait.....I've been unsuccesfully searching TW and the Internet for an option that I like for placing my CB. I just got my Midland 5001z and am planning on building a box (sorta like a speaker box) to straddle the driveshaft tunnel behind the center console (I have a DCLB) this weekend...I'll post pics.

I've thought about it, but with the morons I commute with.... Better to be thought an asshole than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. I think it best to avoid temptation.

I do want to connect the speaker out on the radios to the overhead exciters in the AC and get some back door speakers for the stereo. That's a project for next fall, though.

Haha ya it might get me in to trouble.. I am only really going to use the CB when on long trips and what not, so i'm not looking to pour too much into it, but not afraid to spend more if it's worth it. I also don't want it to take up too much room though, it seems the higher the price, the bigger the unit!
I was looking at the Cobra 19DXIV. You can pick them up on Ebay for around 50 bucks. Thoughts?
