With the pic's you should have to post the mileage and the location that you drive the truck in. Those both make a world of difference, some spotless pics so far...

Here's my engine bay. You may need some protective eyewear to view this. I added a little bling to the middle.

    Purple power citrus:

    And black magic 2-in-1

A flexible microfiber or soft bristle brush, too.

The black magic is an "okay" product. I think next time I'll stick with the Purple power, some gunk engine cleaner, and a maybe some 303 aerospace or a similar product.

Really? That purple power doesn't harm anything? What about getting all the electric connections wet?

People have had issues with the purple power original, as well as original simple green, as far as them being too powerful/abrasive. For example, simple green is not the greatest to use on aluminum, as it can damage the finish.

The citrus based purple however, seems to have fewer negative results. It's really effective.

As far as the electrical connections, when I cleaned my engine recently, I covered the battery terminals, my (unsealed) AUX fuse block, and semi-covered my alternator during the process, just enough to kind of divert water from it.

I have a 2nd gen, so all the other electrical connections are pretty well sealed. I also have the stock intake setup, so I don't have an exposed filter, if you do you want to cover that as well.

I haven't had any issues, I did rinse everything off really thoroughly, though.

I know this is the 1st gen forum, but I can post my pics if you'd like to see the before/after.

Purple Power every oil change. Started a few years ago as my way of tracking an oil leak I wanted to fix and became a regular thing.

I've always sprayed my engine compartment down every month with the soap that I use to wash my truck. Done since since i've had the truck new & with all the cars i've owned. I do start it back up when finished & leave it running for 10 to 15 minutes to allow it to heat up & dry the water that's left over in the engine bay.

Are you kidding? I was gonna ask you where you got it! No corrosion and hell-for-stout.

Would look even bettor clamping an Optima red top.

(I would cut the studs down, though. :))

I basically doused the engine (cold/dry), let it sit for 10 minutes, scrubbed (mostly in the harder to reach areas), rinse.
