I'm thinking the same thing dropped mine to 38f 36r ... going lower than that to get full contact for sure

I'm running 32. Seem to have good contact all the way across, but I haven't done a chalk test yet.

Check out my build, all my pics are those specs

Yup they're even. I deflate them a lot to drive on the beach, usually 20psi. I'll drive on payment like that if I think I'm going back on the next day or so. But when I fill them I put them right to 40. Due to the temps changing with the seasons here on the east coast, I'm sure they don't stay at 40.. My tires get a lot of abuse and are holding up very well. When they do eventually ware out I'm going to definetly rebuy the maxxs again. Just not sure on the size :spy:

I personally like a firmer tire for my commute but I can't see there being a right or wrong in this. To each his own.

im doing it for even and complete tread contact, not ride or MPG related. At 40 PSI my tread only rides on the center. 35 PSI they're 3/4 of full contact. Going to see what 30 PSI does.

30psi is the sweet spot for the 315/70/17's in my opinion. When it dries up out here I'll do the chalk test to confirm.

I know they are gonna be two years old May 5th, after delays they came into the shop on my anniversary

I wish I logged my mileage that day but didn't expect how big of a purchase it was. I'd say I have 45k - 50k miles on these tires.
