Anyone else experience issues with getting a tire shop to install and balance tires that you bought online and not from them? I sat at my guys shop for 6 hours after we had dropped off the tires at a local shop to get them put on and balanced. They of course made them their least priority as they kept taking on other things while my tires just sat there waiting. Makes me sick that just because you want to save money by buying online, they will make you suffer because you didn't want to spend twice the amount ordering tires through them. Overall, it was still worth the wait as I thought of it as a sign of protest that I will never order tires from a tire shop and even with a higher rate to install, I still saved hundreds. I still have to get an alignment done, which I will not do with that tire shop. I plan on calling them this week to voice my strong opinion of making me wait forever while my dog was sick at home and they even scuffed one of my wheels up a little in the process. Southern Oregon Tire in grants pass, OR by the way.

Someone said "fuck you" in the strongest non-verbal method they had and you still want to interact with them?

It's that way with anything. Places make money on the sale of parts or in this case tires. They break even on mounting and balancing once you figure the machines cost $20k or more for road force, etc.

Not uncommon for body shops to refuse to do body work with customer supplied parts.

I have access to the machines, so buying online is a no brainer for me

Not sure what you read, but my only future interaction will be me going off on them and expressing that I will never use them again and do all I can to recommend that nobody go there ever.

That will teach them a lesson right?

You know that they don't give a shit about you or your "customer experience" so why keep allowing them to make an ass out of you? Post your crappy yelp review or whatever so you feel like you've vented and move on to positive parts of your life. Way too many people focus on the negative crap that doesn't matter and let it rule their lives.

Just ordered some 265/75r16 for my new TRD Pro. Cant wait for them to show up! Got them off Discount Tire Direct ebay store. They sold them in pairs and had $100 off $400 or more. Soo i did two separate orders for a grand total off $644 for 4. Not too bad at all!

Here in Bellevue Washington Firestone charges their normal installation rate and you simply make an appointment. No questions asked and great service. Same as Les Schwab.
