Exact same here, got about 50,000 on mine and I just gave them their last rotation. As you said they've progressivly got louder as theyve aged. More than likely going to be buying another set, they've done great for me.

For like 1500 miles they were dead straight.

Now they have pulled to the right for over 2000 miles

Bill I'll have to wait and see how many miles I get out of the st maxx's but I've been running Coopers for years on other vehicles. I had a blow out on my dd a couple of months ago and replaced the rear 2 tires as I usually repace 2 at a time on the car. When the tire guy hecked the mileage on the tires he laughed I had 97,000 miles on them and they had just passed inspection. It would be nice to get the same service life out of these but being what they are I don't expect it

st maxx 275/70/r17 is weighing 59lbs. is this real? and the 285's only weighs 55lbs. Is there somebody running 275/70/r17 on their truck? Can't decide on cooper or bfg.IMG_7141.jpg

Any E rated tire is going to be on the heavy side. I'm running 315 Maxx's and they are heavy, but still lighter then toyo's of the same size. You don't really notice the weight, it's the size increase. As far as all terrains go, you have to consider how the perform and looks(if you care). I had 285 K02's , they ride nice, quiet, and good off road. But I just don't like how they look, nice side biters but the tread looks blah. The Maxx are a little noisier but are better off road, and look bad ass.

According to coopers site the 285s are 60lbs so 59 for 275s is probably right.

thanks man. st maxx is still my number 1 option. aside from good reviews about the performance the looks are more aggressive than any a/t tires.

I would say in slick icy conditions I like my AT3 better but they are OK, great in snow better than the AT3.
For ever other condition the maxx are much better.

They are louder than the AT3, not crazy but you know you have truck tires on.

The maxx ride smoother than the AT3. They are E rated but not a stiff ride.

So yesterday we received around 20" of snow here in Harrisburg, PA. So I had to get out and see what my truck and these tires can do. I simply cleaned the snow off the truck and drove through the piles of snow. These Coopers had no problem pulling through 20+ inches of snow, even deeper areas that were plowed up. Very happy with these tires on my truck.
