    So, after nearly sliding off the road in light snow yesterday, my rugged fails need to go. I've never liked them in the 2 winters I've had them. Pretty much decided to buy once cry once and put st maxxs on for the winter. Only thing I'm stuck on is do I go 235/85/16 or 265/75/16. Never ran skinnys so kinda want to try them but would the ride be slightly better on 265s? Or does it not really matter both being LT tires?

    Going on a v6 auto if it matters.

    235 might be a bit too skinny. Most people go to 255 for skinny. Skinny should be good for rain and snow. Wider would be better for mud and for deep snow.

    Finally popped my tire cherry on these guys! Ordered a set of 5 255/85/R16. Total cost was just under $1800 Canadian, thanks to our lovely taxes here. $293 a tire.

    Anybody that has had these mounted can you chime in. I purchased st maxx 285/75/17 I'm putting them on my SCS Stealth 6 rims. I tried to get them balanced and they needed over 6 oz. per tire so I had to do the dynabead method. Anyone else have this problem?

    I have same tire size, pretty sure mine took more than that to balance. They stayed balanced too so far.
