Holy dingdang! I finally got my 255/80/17 installed. I’m so stoked FTMFW! I was a little nervous when I decided to go from 285/70/17, but they are so perfect. Immediately noticed some low end torque return and easy braking. Road noise was reduced greatly from the Duratracs I had before. I’m never going back. I know some people have posted that they were worried about them being too skinny looking, but I have 8” wide rims and seem to be just right.

Now to head down to AZ to pick up a RTT/ bed rack combo from @excorcist and hang with him and @AZeyeTIE. Maybe I can find some dirt on the way to work out the new kit.

I’ll post better pics from the road.

My next tires are 255/85/16's. My wife has 285/75/16's on her Pro but they weigh something like 70+lbs per tire. I am down for 33's but not if they are that heavy. What does each tire weigh? Obviously much less than your previous shoes if low end torque is returning.

I’m not sure what they weigh, but it’s a noticeable difference. Someone posted earlier that this tire was 53 lbs. compared to 61 lbs. for 285’s. Can’t remember if he had the duratracs though. If you want, we can pull one off and weigh it.

Not yet. I have these tires in 285 on Method wheels, and I have 4Runner wheels in my basement. Going to get 255's hopefully soon

    Great to know!

Just picked up a set of stock 16” OR wheels and can’t wait to wrap them in some ST MAXXs

I was worried that the stock wheel would make it look awkward, so I was thinking about spacers...

but from what yours looks like, it’s perfect
