on the "Beadlocks" that came with you truck?

These tires would look great in 235/85/16 on your 16x7.5 wheels with the beadlock look

235/85/16's would look great. little taller too. I like tires that come straight off the rim, the balloon-look of wide tires on narrow rims is not my thing

What type of driving do you do?

    255/80/16?

Yeah I hear yah, from my understanding the taller thinner tires do better on snow and ice due to a smaller contact patch with more weight? I live in NW Indiana (redneck country, 6in DB lifts all day) this is kind of why I threw the skinnier tires in the mix to. My truck already stands out cause of the Baja sticker on the side, but Id like to keep it that "Tacoma" style and not follow suit with all the f150s/1500s... Mall crawlers,if that makes any sense. However at the end of the day it always comes down to functionality and performance.

A little bit of everything, during the week I make about a 50mile commute every day for school and work, and then on the weekends its anywhere from a couple hundred mile highway trip to the ski resort, 20-50 mile city drive to the dirtbike track, or even around 50 miles on the dirtroads/hunting property.

Correct. Narrower does better in snow/ice, due to more pressure on the contact patch. The 235/85/16 is considered the "expedition" tire size due to it's versatility. Street/Snow/Mud/Rock capabilities. Heck, Land Rover still uses it on their Defender models.

Unless you're doing numerous off road trips, fat/wide tires, are a perpetual waste of money and daily drive-ability performance

Sounds like you need to highway/allterrain tire if anything

I like this tire a lot due to the positive reviews and durability/puncture test. On the way to the duck blind, I have to cross a few logs, and an old river bed. Last year we took a 1500 Silverado back there with some duratracs and we punctured one on the way out. (tires were less than a month old) made for a bad day....

How are the skinner tires in mud? not deep mud just the casual stuff you encounter on the farm or on some light trails?

They'll suit ya just for your needs, especially with commuting. Like I said, Land Rover still uses the size for their Defender... That thing is a work horse on any and all terrain. Popular across the off-road community in general. There's a good bit of 235/85/16s being used on here too

Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx thread on Expedition Portal

If I've read my own thread (yes I am jim65wagon on EP) correctly Post 339 is where Redline first mentions cross caster as a fix for the right pull that some vehicles get from these tires.

As an FYI neither set I've had on the Tundra made it pull. They track straight and true.

I'm impressed maybe it's the 255 tall an narrow profile or maybe it's the tire itself but I had bfg at an Goodyear Wrangler Authority (I know this is a cheap tire they were a gift) before and they sucked on wet slushy snows but I haven't had an issue with these. Had then in about 4 inches good snow with some ice under it an they did good on a back road not maintained gravel/dirt road only used 2wd and the hill coming out is pretty steep I was impressed. Today we got a couple inches of wet slushy snow and no problems at all which is nice. They don't pull as bad in slush as the other two tires did. So far so good!
