idk i was always tought radials are front to back back to front and never change direction of rotation. Perhaps this was wrong as i googled it and it shows what you described. I jave mever had a problem with it that way.

    tire_rotation_abc.png

I've always used the "front's cross to the rear, rear rolls forward" shown in Tire Racks image as Rearward Cross. 40 years of automotive fun with no issues.

When I got a FWD vehicle I learned the reverse (rears cross, fronts roll back)

Of course directional tires are just that and stay on the same side of the vehicle.

ST Maxx's are not directional and can be flipped.

In the end find the rotation pattern that works for your vehicle and tires and you'll be golden.

Front to back/back to front went out the window about 20 years ago. That's the way I was taught back in the day.

My first set of Cooper STT PRO's just got retired from the second vehicle they went on. 54,000 miles out of a set of mud tires that the manufacturer said would last 45K aught to indicate I was doing SOMETHING right.

After 3 days & just short trips......I've noticed slightly extra road noise from the Maxx tires...

no big deal at all...still rides great....a meaty well made tire....after busting one of the AT3's

after only 3K miles on a graded BLM road..I think the ST Maxx is better suited for my driving

Back later after a couple tanks of fuel to see mpg difference

Sorry for this lame arse pic. But getting my 255/85/r16's put on right now. It's freakin 19* outside right now here so I almost couldn't get the tonneau cover open to transport them to the shop. Made sure they will be putting the weights on the inside....

Still had OEM tires and they were getting real slick in the ice and snow. They were never great in the snow anyway.

New shoes are on and seem well balanced. Initial 5 mile drive home no pulling. They feel great. New tire feel. Hopefully lasts a while.
I'm probly going to remove the front flaps even though there's no worry about them hitting. Next up will be the GRILL!!!
