So, after more time behind the wheel of different vehicles in my fleet running the ST Maxx, I find I need to revise my initial impressions. At least 90% of the issues I was having with them can be attributed to Ford's absolutely idiotic implementation of the radius arm suspension on the F250. That truck is back in the shop trying to get those issues addressed, and I've been mainly driving a spare 2016 Frontier PRO-4X in the meantime. While it's a miserable vehicle for all-day comfort, it actually off-roads extremely well, helped greatly by the Fox suspension and the ST Maxx tires. On this truck, the Coopers are smooth and reasonably quiet. Even without airing way down, they perform better than average in soft sand and show very little wear when powering over sharp rocks. As for wear, every vehicle I have them on is developing some cupping, which must be a product of the design. I'm currently trying the front-cross tire rotation method to help keep this cupping even, and it seems to be working. Overall, I'll be happy to get back into the Ford, especially since the last dealer visit cut the death wobble by about 75%.

Your truck looks good, what do you think your getting mpg wise not towing, just your daily highway/town combined?

Haven’t been in here in a while but good to see the thread is still alive and well. Love some of these setups and glad you guys are getting out and exploring.

still loving these tires.....finally moved back hole to Washington State and had a fun little snow trip here in the NW with a buddy who also has st maxx. He is a Florida boy but We had no issues climbing These icy snowy hills and exploring. Adding a set to the wife 4Runner next week along with new lift and she is stoked. They are still great in rain, snow, sand and mud and good on road manners as well. Make sure you rotate them every 5k and check tire pressure levels. I Still air down for certain things to about 20 but on road i range From 34-36 depending on season and my load.

Got a new set of ST Maxx in 285/75/16 and first time taking them in snow - they did amazing at 9psi. One of the few rigs that didn’t get stuck that day and a lot less sliding than others. Still super happy with these tires!

Thanks fellas! As much as I want to try other tires, I'm going to have a hard time not sticking with these.

These things are freaking amazing in the snow. We just had a 3 day snow storm and I have never felt such confidence driving in the snow. I really liked my wildpeaks, but these are even better.

Heres a little update on mine.
    255/80 17
    Almost 9k miles so far.
    Rotated every 3k.
35psi rear and 36psi front cold.
No visible wear, no uneven wear and no pulling on flat highway.

On highway road manners are great. Nothing to complain about at all. Dry and wet traction are great.

Offroad manners are more of the same. We do a lot of beach driving and aired down to 20psi...no problems what so ever. We also spend some time at URE, lots of rock and red clay...no issues what so ever.

    Happy customer here.

just a couple of things tbh
just found this thread my tires are not new by any means and have a lot of miles on them now (plus uneven wear from a messed up front end) but i thought i would chime in on them. i got these in either late 2018 or early 2019 tbh i dont remember... but the tires have performed amazing for me on road and offroad performance they have never skipped a beat. im now at the point of needing new tires and im looking at getting another set possibly the only down side is the weight....

but bellow are my st maxx 255/80/17s
    [IMG]
and what little tread i have left now lol
