I went for the matching spare. Put the 5th tire on stock spare wheel. Ya never know how long you may need to drive on it, or if your on trail may need a solid spare to get you out. I sleep comfortable at night with a matching spare

One of the only pics I have of it

Yup, I'm going to pick up a spare 17" alloy. Like you say, who knows how long you'll be driving on it and god forbid I pull into the mall parking lot with mismatched wheels

I personally never tried, never really wanted to. But I did read a while back that to fit a 33" tire in stock location you may need to cut off the large tabs that hold the stock spare in place.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Don't cut them off. I have a 285 in my stock location. I bent the tabs and found the tire was rubbing on my rear diff. bent them back till everything cleared and it's been fine ever since. :)

Thinking of getting the Maxx ST for my 4cly 5 spd AC. Does anybody have experience with these on a 2013 or later model?

Ok, now I gotcha. What size are you looking at and what load range?

I've been running these for almost 2 years on my truck. 285-75-16 size. I've got a 4cyl and there is certainly some power loss but it's manageable. Overall I love these tires. Plenty aggressive for what I throw at them. Had them aired down on numerous ocassions. 10/10 would purchase again.

Anyone know the cheapest place currently to pick these up in a 255/85/16? Can find them ranging from $202 to $260 online. After shipping and taxes, they're anywhere from $260-$280 per then mount and balance. If that's the norm, then it's cool. Just like checking.

I bought mine at a Mavis... I have 255/80 and paid $189 mounted and balanced.
I'd find a local shop, make up a price you think is fair and see if they'll match it :D

That's what I'm thinking. I did find them online for $193. $175 sounds good to me:D

Got a set of 255/85 16 mounted up 2 weeks ago on the FJ anthracite wheels at 40PSI. Couldn't be happier, took them through the latest snowstorm and they were champs including the wet melt down. I like them much better than my BFG AT's which have always been subpar in the snow (3 tacos worth of BFG AT's). These are great tires.

I only payed $780 for all 4 of mine, mounted and balnced. From a tiny mom and pop shop in SC. They do have blemish stamps on the side wall but i cant find anything wrong with them. I think that stamp means something cosmetic is wrong with them. But like i said i have not found anything out the ordinary. They have been perfect so far and ive put almost 20K on them.

Like I said in my last post the only time i notice the tires on the 4cyl is when pulling away from lights and my gas mileage took the hit with the 33's. Truthfully 4hi is difficult to use as well but this goes back to 33's and stock gears. Deff have to slip the clutch alot more than with stock tires. No Regrets though. Love these tires.

Yes the blems are cosmetic, but I know we at Cooper don't sell them in the states, all our blems go to Mexico, US DOT will not allow them on the roads In The U.S... I find it interesting you were able to get blems, and pay that much money for them.... I wouldn't have paid anything over $400 for them...
