61,125 mi on mine (two replaced due to shenanigans), and they're almost ready to replace. Might get 63,000 out of them.

Been great, but pull right as everyone else has said.

Just curious has anyone had any crazy wear with the st maxx? I've owned two sets now 255/80/17 on a 2nd gen and 255/85/16 on a 3rd gen. Both sets have worn funny basically what i would call feathering. The 3rd gen had brand new suspension put on and only had 5k on the truck I've had the alignment and balance done several times, i typically rotate every 3-5k. Due to the wear i can feel it in the truck and there loud as heck. Will be getting new tires soon. I love the st maxx but if this is common i dont think i will go this route again.

6 months and a few thousand miles on my 255/80-17’s. Happy so far. Not much louder than the Cooper AT3’s they replaced. Running 30 psi front, 25 psi rear.

Yeah, mine have "feathered" badly, and make a lot of noise. Mine are size 255/85R16 on a lifted 3rd gen with almost 30,000 on the tires.

Had my first failure due to damage with the ST Maxx. Very clean inner sidewall slice. After throwing on the spare, I drove the route this tire was cut on and didn't find anything that would have caused it.

I'm in the same boat as you. Same size tires on a lifted 3rd gen. As soon as I had the tires put on it started pulling to the right. After about 20k miles (rotations every 5k), I noticed the tires on the front were feathering. After my most recent rotation, the rear is super loud and the truck wanders all over the place. Its a shame because I really liked the performance of these but theyre turning into a headache.

I had mine replaced with about 60k miles on them recently. After having the new tires installed (not st maxx), i immediately noticed that my old tires definitely pulled to the right. Tracks straight as an arrow now. They were good tires and i think 60k miles is respectable for how aggressive they are

255x85r16 on a basically stock trd pro. they do rub on the inner mounting screw for the driver side mud flap at almost full left lock.

    IMG_3223.jpg

also took the shop FOUR HOURS to balance. they claim the balancer was having some unrelated trouble, or maybe related to the weight but that it probably needed to be calibrated. we'll see how well the balance holds up

Do you happen to have a shot from the front of the truck? I'm debating between these/this size or a 285/75/16 for my 22 Pro, whenever it decides to show up. TIA

285/75/17s. Had 255/80/17 before, I'll say these are much louder, but I love these. Really wish these weren't almost $400 a piece cause I'd really like 2 for the trailer and one for a spare

I hate to say this, but once the remaining stock of these for my fleet is depleted, I will not be purchasing them again. For the very high price tag, their performance has been average at best across a wide range of my fleet. Most discouragingly, they are absolutely useless in soft sand, which is something we have to deal with fairly often.

These tires are moderately priced (and taxed) in my state and performed great in a wide variety of terrain.
Since you obviously keep detailed records of your fleet. Exactly how many of your vehicles over how many years needed to be towed out of the sand since these tires are "Absolutely useless in sand"? I am sure Cooper, Discount Tire and the rest of us would love to hear these statistics.

I've been using them on the fleet since March of 2020. The fleet includes: 1 - 2019 F250, 2 - 2016 Ram 1500, 1 - 2013 Tacoma, 1 - 2016 Frontier, 1 - 2009 Tahoe, all 4X4's with some form of off-road package. On the vehicles heavier than the mid-size trucks, the Discoverer's are lasting 30k miles or less. Full on recoveries from the sand have been few, maybe 2 or 3 in that time. However, there are routes and areas we have to avoid or go in with extra caution because the Coopers will just hop then sink in the sand instead of pulling through like other tires I've used in the same locations.

The ST Maxx is not a bad tire, but there are better options for far less money.

I put 235/85/16's on my stock SR5. I have about 500 miles on them. Here is my quick review:
    Looks cool - check
    Quieter than expected - check
Pulls to the right - check
