I've been eying these to replace my Toyo Open Country AT2 (Load Range C) in 265/75/R16 with these in the same size. BUUUT...I really don't need a load range E tire. I've been happy with the Toyos, but I'd like to upgrade to a slightly more aggressive tread pattern for all of my northern Maine fishing/hunting/camping adventures. Don't want to go the Duratrac route even though they make a load range C. It's mostly forest/logging roads, but some occasional rough, rutted and washed out roads & stuff like that. Tread Depot lists the weight of the 265/75/R16 ST Maxx as 49 lbs., which is not accurate as I contacted Cooper and they stated 54 lbs. Is the 10lb jump in tire weight from my Toyos to the Coopers going to kill my mpg? Or will it be minimal? Any experience from someone who's switched from a lighter tire?

I didn't notice any change in mpg when I switched from General Grabber AT2 in 265/70/R16 to the Toyos. Tires were pretty close in weight.

I went from stock tires/wheels to 63 lb tires and 36 lb wheels. I lost about 3mpg.

Yeah, I expected it to be worse. There is a noticeable difference in performance though with all that weight and additional diameter. I didn't realize the wheels were so heavy when I bought them. Unfortunately I was more interested in looks and didn't pay attention to weight. I'll be replacing them with lighter ones when I buy new tires.

Yes. Hit YouTube and search for "Flippac camper" and you will see how it works. Dead simple and fast up and back down.

Forgot to add, no pulling left or right with the tires, and chuckle to myself every time I pass someone with loud tires on. These things are sneaky quiet.

so who is running 255's on 17x8.5 wide wheels? or 16x8.5? looking at buying new wheels not much in the 17x8 category more in the 17x8.5 but I feel like that's stretching the 255's. Just look for opinions and advice.

These seem to be a pretty good tire from all the positive comments here. I have a 2011 trd off road with 16' factory wheels on it that has not been lifted at all. What's a good tire size that will not cause any rubbing of any kind or should I stick to stock size? It currently has 265/70r16.

255/85/16 installed on OE wheels. Drives straight down the road, though my ass end was sagging with my 18s in the bed and airbags removed.
Only issue is rubbing on the upper control arms at full turn. So, I'll be getting some spacers.

I was surprised how quiet they are cruising down the road.
