I've got the ATPs in 256/75/16 and I agree. Good for on road and light off road. Basically the same as the at3, but discount tire exclusive.

ATP is a little heavier and more aggresive

Are you still happy with the MAXXs? I've been running MTZs for a couple years and am looking for something a little quieter for my next set.

I just got mine installed this morning. I had 265/75/16 Duratracs Load Range C with 30K on them...the noise from them had been unbearable since about 20K.
I got the same size in S/T Maxx but Load Range e pressured at 38. installed at Discount Tire

    - They are extremely quiet. As quiet as the stock Dunlap tires it came with I haven't been able to hear my engine noise for the last 10K miles. over the tire hum.
    - The ride is very smooth, not rough or harsh as other have described. Better performance than Duratracs in everyway.
    - They do not veer in any direction as others have described. They drive perfectly straight
    - I monitor my mileage with the Fuelly app and my driving patterns are very consistent every week, so we shall see if in fact a heavier same size tire causes a decrease in milage.

The best part of it all....I kept my old Duratracs because I was going to photo them and put them up for sale. I stopped for gas on the way home with the old tires in the bed...a landscaper asked me if they were for sale..I said $200 and he gave me $150. So I got rid of my old tires without any hassle...so my drive out price was $945..minus $150 cash. $795!

Just drove over 3000 miles on my maxx's all highway from upstate ny to Florida and back loved the ride. I've had them in mud and snow now on the highway. Couldn't be any more impressed with the performance

For you guys with 255/80/17, how tall do they measure on the truck? Always heard Coopers run small and want to make sure they aren't the same size as my current 285/70/17's.

I don't have that size, but while digging into related wheel issues for 265/75 16, one guys said the were right on 32 inches, whereas the generic calculator results in 31.65. If accurate, indicates running large, at least in this size.

The coopers are a little shorter than the BFGs. Coopers are about 32.8" where as the BFGs are 33.3".
The cooper are wider than the BFG's though, around 10.2" vs a little under 10" for the BFGs

That is the reason I got mine today. I went a little bigger...
295/70-17. Will be mounting later tonight. Just need to um... find a creative way to finish off my last set of Coops.
