Thank you for the quick response, that is crazy. I have a 2019 pro with 285/75/R16 STT Pro tires, everything else is stock and I am getting about 13.5mpg average. I do drive probably 90% city driving but 13.5mpg still seems really low. Prior to putting the tires on I was around 19-20mpg. If you have any suggestions please let me know, it shouldn't be my driving, I baby it for the most part just to see if I can get a little better mpg.

I wonder the gas mileage a Prius gets if ran on 285/75r16s?

Second set in 315/70/17. I got 53k out of the first set doing a 5 tire rotation for the first 35k, and then 4 tire rotation after that because I lost one tire to a hunk of metal on the highway. They wore much faster in the 4 tire scenario 3A87B4ED-FA44-4280-A789-4FF6FE648E0C.jpg39786A2C-0003-44B3-9872-18E6DD45C901.jpg

I just got a set of these a couple days ago in 285/70/17. What psi are you guys running? I have no added weight. I went up to 40psi and as low as 32psi. 32 feels good but I don’t want them to run too low.

On another note, these things are LOUD! I went from KO2s in the same size and I
am very surprised at how loud they are and how you can feel the knobs rumbling over the ground.
This is the most aggressive tire I have ever had on a Tacoma. I’ve had many all terrains over the 25 years I’ve been driving and I’ve never had anything remotely as loud as these things.
I think most of my surprise is because every review I read about these tires said something about how quiet and smooth they are. They are neither.
Oh, and I also lost about 3mpg from KO2 C load to these E load STT Pro’s.

    Alrighty, UPDATE:

I did a chalk test and used the info here and I’m now down to 30psi.
The tires are MUCH quieter and obviously aren’t anywhere near as firm. I can’t believe that these tires require such low psi on the Tacoma. My mpg also went up by 1, so I’m only down about 2mpg from before with the KO2s.

Are you on stock suspension or lifted? Do they rub on the 285's?

They’re quite bouncy at highway speeds. Is that normal? I haven’t contacted my tire guy about it yet as I just got them installed but it doesn’t seem right. It’s not THAT bad but I don’t like the bouncing really at all. Sometimes it’s worse than others. Sometimes it doesn’t do it at all. And the highway I drive on is a brand new paved highway as you can see from the pics

Check your tire pressure (chalk test). I run anywhere from 28-34 lbs., depending on the temperature and barometric pressure.

I've never had these in a E rated so I can't really say for sure. Maybe check the air pressure and lower it if needed. I've only ran these STT's in a C load on a first gen and they were a little still but overall pretty nice riding. I currently have AT3 XLT's E rated on my 2nd gen and they are pretty smooth.

Yeah, that's the first thing I did. I checked the tire pressure and it was 39psi so I dropped it down to 29. The bouncing stopped a little but it still bounces. I'll check with my tire guy tomorrow and see what he says.

@Beef Nachos, what's a chalk test? Never heard of it.
