Man, I had to go to the third page to find the thread.

Going from some mall crawler 20's to 17x8.5 SCS RAY10s. Doing a lot more wheeling now, and full king suspension is soon to come. On OME 886, All-Pro UCAs and full dakar out back currently.

Need help on tire size. I know I can fit the 285/70R17s, them being just over 11" wide is the only reason I am asking.
I like the 255/75R17, the 10" wide is perfect, but its 32.2" tall or something.

With the 285 being 32.7" tall and the 255 being just a hair over 32", it shouldn't make a real noticeable ground clearance distance. Plus with the 255 it wouldn't take as much power to push them. No my truck doesn't struggle with the almost 33s and 11" wide now.

I like the way these look and I am sure they'll outperform the ST Maxx. But the ST Maxx and BFG KM2 come in 255/80R17. Thats the perfect size I think. But no Pros in this size sadly

The 285s are about $1023 shipped
The 255s are about $842 shipped

Does anyone know if you can make a 285 fit in the spare location? I know the 255s can if you relocate the bracket 1/2" towards the rear

Looking at the same size for these 255/75r17. Decent price but not sure how drastic of a different look it would be from the maxx's 255/80r17

And move the mount towards the rear some to get it away from the pumpkin? Cutting the exhaust is fine by me, no big deal there.

Also, what is that bar across your bed in front of your toolbox? What does it do?

The only reason I am not buying the Maxx is because these tires look so much more aggressive. The Maxx to me look pretty much like a factory option/street tire. I know I know, it isn't. But the 255/80R17 is 33 tall and 10 wide, that is perfect! The Pros only come in 255/75R17 which is like 32.2 tall and 10 wide. I still may go this route. Not 100% sure, but I haven't found any pictures of Tacomas with this size yet :(
I mean the 285/70 is only like 32.7 tall, or something close to it.

But the full size spare, tire price, and a little less strain on my truck overall, seems better to me

Yes, well if you cut it you won't have to worry about the mount since it will be gone

That is a bed bar, you can use it to mount recovery gear like a hi-lift or shovel etc. Also if you have 2 or 3 you can mount a RTT onto it

Hafa Adai. Nice to see trucks from Guam being posted. Did you buy your rims and tires on island or did you order them online? Who did the work on your lift?

Thanks bro ! heres how she looks now....I ordered these wheels here on TW's group buy, I ordered the kings front and rears and had Rhino Linings do the install, they do great work and are reasonably priced.

    Shoots
