Got the 1st side welded out and the second side tacked up so far, hoping to have them both first coat painted by the end of the night tonight. Doing this project second shift!

Took them out to AAOA and purposely drove off rocks to tall to touch, scrapped the paint real good on the sliders, but they did their job perfectly.

What angle did you use from the frame mounts to the sliders? Those are exactly what I have been dreaming up to build.

I did 20 for reference, tried to do 22.5 and it was too steep, the doors hit.

Oh and while not quite "Armor" started working on my bed bars.

These use our trucks stock rail system as means of attachment, I cut a piece of steel to slip into the rail that has two tapped holes. The bars themselves are 1 1/2" SQ tubing-1/8" wall. This set will have cross members attaching the pair with grating attached to act as a spare tire platform.

Another alternate design is taller with the same platform, a third is the same height as pictured but with the platform hung below.

The bed bar closest to the tailgate will have brackets for a hi lift jack, one of the alternate designs has the brackets positioned on the sides.

CB antenna mounts will also be incorporated as well as shovel and/or fire extinguisher attachments.

I wish I could take credit for my bumper. Built by a good friend of mine. Just waiting on my 20" lightbar. He built my bed rack also.
    Cheers

Nice gear. What did he use for a coating? Is anyone using epoxy over zinc primer? Or strait to the powdercoater?
