I've got the 9" wide Six Shooters. I would prefer the 8" wide ones but I got this set of 5 used for $150, so I wasn't going to pass that up! They were black when I got them but I wanted the bronze ones, so I went ahead and got some Gold/Bronze Plasti-dip and went to town. It's held up great for almost 3 years now and a set of tires have be replaced with only one small chip that the bead protector covers so you can't even see it unless you're really looking for it. Eventually I'll get them powder coated but they are fine for now.

Absolutely!! The story is a little deeper... They previous owner got new wheels for his 4Runner so he was selling these and were actually posted on FB swap for over a week, somehow no one else bit on them. They were listed for $550 with pretty much new Goodyear highway tires. My parents needed tires and they agreed to buy those for $400, so my out of pocket was $150. I just mounted my previous Goodyear Duratracs on them at work, I recently had to replace the Duratracs and went with the 33x10.50 Kendas because I wasn't sure if the 35x10.50's would fit. The Plast-Dip was just shy of $100, so I suppose they ended costing $250 if you want to get technical....still cheaper than 1 brand new wheel! The other reason I dipped them is there was some trail rash but only surface scratches. I'm a sucker for a good deal and always on the hunt for a sale or pre-owned, I rarely pay full price for anything except for safety related items like tires, brakes etc.

Here's a little before and after. Personally when they were black it just looked like every other Bro-Dozer that just follows Instagram trends with no personal creativity in my area and just didn't seem stand out. After dipping them it stands out more and adds a bit of visual pop instead of being a void in the wheel well. That's just my opinion though. I know plenty like wheels that are black, it's just not my style. Even on our Subaru Ascent family car I went with Fifteen52 Traverse MX in Magnesium Grey while the majority of the Ascent crowd goes for black wheels. Why spend all that money when from 20ft away you can't even see the style of the wheel?? Anyways, rant over. LOL

This is probably my favorite picture of the truck when I was picking up a buddy before going to a hare scramble.

Thank you! Not to get derailed on the thread.... I had an 05 CRF450 and an 03 RM250 before the KTM. I mostly ride woods or hare scrambles since I don't get into MX and I'm getting older so I don't heal from those high speed wrecks like I used to. lol I'm by no means fast or highly technical but the KTM really does make it a lot easier!!

The CRF was just too snappy and was easily stalled out in the low speed technical stuff. I could have done some stuff to make it better but I didn't find it worthwhile to put $1500+ into it to make it something it wasn't designed to do. Plus the triple rake is setup for high speed stability and made the slow tight stuff more difficult.

Then came the RM250, already had an FMF Fatty pipe, Shorty muffler and heavier power valve spring to make the 2 stroke power hit softer. Plus it was a 2 stroke!! Who doesn't love that smell and sound!? I added a weighted flywheel and couple other things to make it better suited for the slow speed stuff which helped. It was far more controllable power and handling but again I was still trying to make an MX bike into a woods bike.

I always wanted a KTM 250 or 300 XC/XCW since I rode my buddies dads bike who owns a KTM dealer but the price was always more than I wanted to spend. He got this 12 KTM 300XC on trade and offered it up to me for a good deal and I couldn't pass it up! It was a 1 owner, meticulously maintained (mechanically speaking) from a local senior class A rider who upgraded to the new fuel injected 300XC. Suspension was already setup for a 230lbs rider, had an SX (higher compression) piston, head, CDI box, FMF Fatty pipe and the carb was dialed in perfectly. So it was set-up better than I expected! I couldn't believe how much better of a bike it was. I am far faster, smoother, more confident and relaxed on the 300 than I ever was before. I also don't get nearly as fatigued on it either. The power delivery is smooth and predictable which was not the case on the other bikes. Makes approaches and log/rock hops so much easier. Plus the kickstand, electric start and 18" rear wheel are game changers!! God I sound old and lazy. haha I'm still a novice rider and I'm generally in the top of the pack for class C riders in our area, not that I'm trying to be competitive, I just do it for fun without a care in the world where I place. My buddies are all experienced A riders so it's a lot of fun when going out in the woods watching and learning their techniques though I'll likely never get to their level since they all have ridden and competed since they were kids.

The old RM250 before she left me.

First Hare Scramble with the KTM. Raining and 42F, it was an awesome ride none the less.

When I placed my order a couple weeks ago I put is there a Tacomaworld discount in the notes. Dustin called me and said no but I could save some bucks if I picked up at a Fedex hub.
Is was nice of him to try to save me some money even though I declined for personal reasons.

Hell ya!! I've ridden a 350W and it was a great bike!! But I just love the 2 stroke sounds and smells. Hard to beat the fuel economy of the FI bikes though. Had a buddy in a group with an FI YZ250F with 1.9 gal tank and we were all sure he'd run out of gas on woods outing. We rode for about 3-4 hrs and all of our oversized tank 2 strokes were getting low when we headed back to camp. Turns out he used right around 1 gal to our 4ish gal. Couldn't believe it if I didn't see it for my own eyes!!

Had them on my 06 std cab for 230,000 miles before getting a 2021 and then mounting a larger diameter tire on them.

I've had mine for over a month, saving for Christmas to surprise my son. He is the daily driver of the Tacoma.

I'm in the hunt for some wheels for my new 2022 that came with those crummy steel things that rust in no time here on the coast.

light weight wheels are right for a 4 banger... just saying from over 400,000 miles of use in two different Tacoma 4 bangers

This one had 230,000 on it when I sold it.
