Great looking set up. What wheels do you have? And what lift do you have?

Just picked up a set of matte black 17” Countersteer Type X for my 2020. Riding on TRD Pro shocks w/ Eibach springs up front (1.5” higher than a stock Pro) + AAL in back. I REALLY want to avoid a CMC… so it sounds like 285/70/17 are not an option. Anyone running 275/70/17 on Countersteer Type Xs? I suspect those wont be a problem…

Impressive how centered you placed them. I'm on the fence on the 5 star matte black 17x8.5 like yours. Looking at yours might have sealed the deal. I currently have methods but want a different look.

Figured I'd throw up some new pics since this thread is seeing some action.

Wheels are still kicking ass and have seen plenty of abuse since install. Mostly California / Nevada desert runs, but yesterday got my feet wet in the boulder-laden mudholes in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Been lots of fun and these wheels can take a beating.

The main reason for selling was to change to 17" wheels. Are they a lighter duty wheel? Perhaps, but they are constructed in the same manner as most except forged. They were about 18lbs each and the Method 701's in 17x8.5 are closer too 25-30.

Yeah I asked because I saw several folks offering their wheels up for sale on some of the FNW forums. I currently have Methods my self 17" but kinda sick of seeing every Tacoma in the planet with the same wheels.

I hear what you are saying. I myself focus on function and cost before cosmetics. I can't see them from the drivers seat.

I'm thinking about selling mine just cause I like to change wheels like I change socks. I like the color, I like the weight, but, I'm thinking about something OEM.

Where on the east coast did you go? The furthest out west I've been is the grand Tetons. Which was an awesome trip. The blue ridge is my backyard though. That's where I do most of my camping and wheeling.

I've never been out here before... Cali boy born and raised.

Past few weeks I've hit Death Valley, bunch of stuff in AZ and NV, up to Utah and over through the Rockies. Burned through Kansas and Oklahoma (boring!) across to Arkansas, Georgia, up through the Carolinas and just spent a few days in VA.

Yesterday I was at George Washington National Forrest and rummaged through the Bald Mountain Trail.

I stumbled across it by accident after camping off of Coal Road. The name made me chuckle because we have a pretty famous trail out in California called Bald Mountain but obviously the terrain is quite a bit different. I was really enjoying it at first but after two hours or so the mud holes started... The first massive one I came to was up to the door panels and it had me tripping. I was by myself and was seriously considering turning around because this little desert rat ain't used to such things!

Glad I stuck with it, though and eventually made it to the Blue Ridge Parkway and snagged myself a much-needed cup of coffee at a little diner up the road.

Currently find myself near Dayton, OH... Plan is to head back through Wyoming and Montana, see a few friends in Oregon, and then drop back down to spend some more time in Utah.

Here's the bald mountain I'm used to...
