Red fish and black drum from 2 days of fishing, we would catch two and leave. In louisiana we can only keep one over 27" per person, so when we caught one each we left, because we were only catching large bull reds and black drum

Did I mention the pier was about 8 ft above the water and we had nothing to get the fish with the first day? We had to walk them all the way down the pier to the shore

What maintenance do you guys do to your reels?

Just got a Shimano Stratic ci4 reel (along with a Phenix M1 rod), and want to keep it in good shape.

I typically never do much when fishing fresh, but when fishing salt, I will rinse the reel down afterwards with some distilled water.

Depends on how many tournaments I fish and if I fish brackish or not. I'll break them down completely about 1-2 times a year and strip them and re lube using the ardent reel cleaning kit. I clean most of our members reels also. But maybe once a year if you don't fish tournaments every weekend and definitely rinse it if it's seen salt unless of course it's a reel made for inshore specifically
