It's like an ice fishing fly rod! Haha. Me either. Anything under 8 feet is a struggle

No longer about me and what I catch... My boy and his first shark this past summer at the Port Aransas jetties. Caught on 3 or 4 inch pin fish. Everyone on the North AND South jetty heard when he caught it - no, he wasn't screaming as loud as me. I was so damn proud. A few weeks prior to the shark he caught a spanish mac and a schoolie speckled trout. We'll repeat again in the next month or so but with some bigger fish.

Sure is. We took the first jetty boat of the morning to the island. That same day 2 guys came back from the flat surf with some monster sow surf trout while free lining croaker. We're trying that this July/August when the surf lays down. Used to fish the jetties on my boat before he was born but we're land fisherman now.

Very nice! I'm looking to buy one, but I mainly fish the saltwater bay. Undecided on sit in and sit on because the water can get pretty choppy at times.

No. I'm new to bass fishing and have not bought a hawg trough yet. Guess I'll make another trip to Bass Pro :rofl:I would estimate 4-5 pounds. It was fun.

I chose sit on mainly because I did not want to bail. Also the stability. I can stand and fish.

Sit on...all day. I have a Predator MX. I stand up and fish on it on calm days. Plus with kayak fishing you will quickly learn how little of space you have to work with when casting, dealing with lure swaps and especially live bait scenarios. I had a closed and hated it. But just my 2cents
