I just learned by trial and error...;) Still learning, I try to catch bass fishing shows on outdoor channel for tips, and try to find a good fishing forum. Its an addicting and $$ consuming hobby but I like it :)

This mornings catch. Had to leave them biting cause of work. It was a great dinner though.

Thank you. I find how to videos to really be beneficial. Flukemaster and wired2fish have some great videos on YouTube.

I bought an abu Garcia vendetta a few weeks ago and have caught quite a few fish on it. But I have a possibly tweaked line guide and broken insert. No idea how it happened.
Anyone have any rod reccomendations? Looking for a 7.5' medium. medium action. $80-120 rangeish

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Do you have any advice on catching specks? It seems I can never get them when I target them. Did you get these bayside or ocean side?

Guess it kind of depends on where you're fishing at. I know fishing for them can be very different state to state or even the different region of the sate for that matter. Around here (north eastern nc) it's usually both the sound and ocean, methods of fishing for them is generally the same. Mirro-lures, lead heads with plastics or gulp and sometimes popping corks. Winter/Spring time mirro-lures usually work better at night and early morning. I'll switch to lead heads once the sun comes up. Summer time I'll used lead heads almost exclusively for trout, drum and flounder. And a huge thing that it took me a while to learn, if you don't get one in 30min of fishing a spot, you're probably not gunna catch one. Always have multiple places to try depending on wind/tide/current. They make the difference between fishing for trout and catching trout, IMO of course. They were in the sound btw, guess that's what you would call bayside. Closest bay I live to is the Chesapeake bay.

Yeah, PA noob here. I go down to Hatteras in October for a couple weeks and mainly surf cast. We get house on the sound side in Frisco and have waded out fishing there. My buddy caught one two years ago off the dock of the house on a yamasenko. I've only got them surf casting with a mullet rig. Thanks for the info.

Booya. I don't need to go fishing; I get mine delivered right to the end of my driveway.
