Just picked up bass fishing this weekend after not catching trout all season at my local lake (Laguna Niguel lake, CA).

Saw some guy using a brown plastic worm "wacky rigged" so I though I would give it a shot.

Nailed the bass on the left on sat and the one on the right on Sunday

 

had no idea what i was doing really, just grabbed random worm out of my buddies tackle box bc i forgot mine.. stoked to nail some more!!

 

Absolutely! Nothing spins me up more than when I see someone keeping Bass to eat.

 

they aint even tasty........ now, that 7 lb snakehead that the dood I was wif caught, that was tasty as advertised

 

State fisheries here sometimes encourage people to keep bass at certain size limits to prevent over populating. I just let them all go.

 

Got a recipe for your beer batter? And can you just fill a pan with oil?

 

I always cook on the grill too.

I'm about to go fish. Going to start looking for a wife because anchoring and swimming to my boat after launching is no longer any fun.

 

You could prob find a mix recipe or get a boxed beer batter mix. We usually just get that for our fish frying

 

Never thought about looking for it at the grocery store. I'll pick some up pre mixed next time I'm at the grocery store.

I went fishing before sunrise a few days ago. Air temp was low 60s and it was a slow, cold trip to the first spot.

 

Guess I'm the only one that uses cornmeal? Just like my Grandma cooked them.

 

And spend your fishing time unraveling the birds nests in her reel

 

Or tossing it in the gumbo. Yeah boy.

 

I cant remember if this is the one I used before or not its been a long time. My wife says she doesnt like the cornmeal batter but I made it before when we first started dating and she liked it. Now she only will use beer batter. But Im pretty sure this is the stuff. Bass pro used to have this batter box but I dont see it on their site anymore.
