No, it was only 17.8 lbs, the record is a bowkill in the high 18lbs weight range

Cutties #1, 3, 4 are definitely Rio Grandes. #2 came from the Arkansas drainage, so I'm not sure on that one.

 

Definitely some quality fishes

 

Gator Gar... The skin is like Kevlar! We use a hatchet to hammer up the spine from the tail to the head and skin the scales off the meat and then the meat off the ribs.

 

It’s a choupic. It’s the first one I’ve seen/caught in my life. They only hang in super fresh water and I grew up in brackish marsh so never really had an encounter.

 

My lil bros first ever largemouth bass in his life. Man that lucky lil bastard, as my first was a dink.
