I'm new to bass fishing and didn't have a scale but I did measure it and it was exactly 24" long. For you experienced fisherman out there any guess as to what weight that looks like?

Did ya eat em?! They are delicious. I will try to find some of the pictures on my phone. They are big, meaty fish.

I fish and bow fish for them. Bow fishing is done at night, launching mostly out of Leesylvania and fishing around there, and into Mattawoman. Both my brother in law and I have shot and reeled in what would be over the respective state records, but didn't report, as I agree it should count the same as a rod and reel. We were just out having fun and trying to get dinner!

Hell yea we ate them. I thought the flavor was excellent, but I need to figure out a better way to eat/prepare them. All of them were boney, but the smaller ones were difficult to avoid the bones. I've seen some "back strap" fillets that should be perfect for my kids to enjoy. Planning to go catch more this weekend.

I baked some filets in Italian dressing and it was amazing. Of course they are delicious deep fried as well.

That one came on a whats called a ned rig. Its essentially a jig head with a small stick bait on it. Super subtle, looks really dumb, but somehow catches a bunch of fish.
