I have ran fleurocarbon on lighter line. But this was a last minute thing. the guy I was fishing with was getting frustrated on losing a lot of fish so I shiched with him. I am going to end up spooling all of my reels with braid honestly with a minimum of 20 lb test. Soon enough..... But the lake I fished today about a month ago I had a fish that broke off while I was fishing with 20 lb braid so I thought it was either a huge pickerel or even a northern.... I might run 50 lb braid on that pole and 20 lb braid on the rest.

No I hear you on lighter line this is my 3rd year with the braid and sometimes I do need 50 lb test mainly because of the cover and weeds floating on top just to muscle through it.... but there has been a little bit of a difference on the bites but these last 3 years again have been the best ever. I probably caught consistently over 500 lb of bass each year for the past 3 or 4 years. I am probably a little short ( no fishing stories here.....lol) since today I caught close to 20 lb of bass. I am trying my best to isolate bigger fish but the lakes I am fishing it has been difficult............. ok.......... sorry for the long winded posts...........

Yeah I think I am going to be fishing again on saturday. The lake that I will be fishing with is one of those lake with pure muck on top.... and the weeds actually grow from the bottom of the lake all the way to the top of the week at the deepest point.... I find the holes if i am fishing from shore. In the kayak I can get to some of the rare spots that are clear......

Got to be close to 20 years old, using the equation of a healthy fish growing somewhere in the area of 1 lb a year..... CRAZY!!!

Havent eaten any large bass..... for that matter now you dont even have to kill the fish to get it stuffed..... get all the right measurements and a couple of good photos they come up with a pretty good resemblance of the fish you caught.... and the fish lives to grow even bigger. I thought about it with the fish I caught earlier but I am aiming for a bigger fish this year.
