Here's one from this weekend. Nice walleye came up and crushed my jogging spoon.

Scored this big fat rainbow this morning. I suck at photographing the catch when you are by yourself. Turned his head & tried to make a run for the water just as I took it49268409_2044229852337863_5794196901356109824_n.jpg . Tried to get him back in water asap. Tail fin was as big as my palm.

Awesome man, fatty for sure! I'd get like a 'lip grip' of some kind. They help when landing keeping our hands off the fish's skin if being CPR'er.

Lip grip on a trout? Are you serious? I have leather gloves on & they are wet. They loose more slime coat in my net.

inexpensive, and good? hummingbird, Lowrance, whatever fitz yer budget should work, but the cheaper they are, the more they are just depth finders, instead of a fish finder... :notsure:

yeah Ive seen prices soaring past $2000...thats not what Im looking for. I think ours currently on there is a lowrance...but its flakey. Its always locking up and I have to reset it all the time and it doesnt have any maps...just temp/depth and supposedly fish but not very accurate.

You probably want to spend $400 to get a decently functional locator. Brand is probably less important.

I run the lowrance elite 4. They have since changed the name to the hook 4 or something like that. Those can be found for under $200. If you want to step up to something in the $300 range, the garmin striker plus 5cv would be an awesome choice. The coolest thing about this unit is that it will create contour maps live and save them as you drive over the lake. This allows you to have the most accurate maps you will find anywhere.

And to keep this picture related, here's a perch from lake of the woods a few weeks ago.

Wilcam47, If you're near a Bass Pro Shop, they have the Lowrance Elite T1 for $600. This is probably more than you wanted to pay but it's a good unit.

ive got a Lowrance Hook 7. Works good for what i need. If i was out there every weekend i probably would have gotten some more expensive.
